Lice - hair elastics and combs

Do you throw away hair elastics if you have found lice/nits on your child's head? And what is the best way to clean combs/brushes?

Brushes and combs can be boiled to clean them.

You could technically wash the hair ties - put them in a net bag in the dishwasher or washer. Or if you don't have that many, then toss them and buy new.

I would just throw them. It's not worth the bother of all that.  I don't know how well plastic brushes or hair elastics would hold up to boiling, anyway.

I threw them all away and got new ones. I didn't want to chance a reinfection. I bagged everything that could possibly have a hair but wasn't washable and put it in the garage for two weeks but combs and hair ties are cheap and easy to replace.
