She sent a letter to her Nana and forgot to put a stamp on it, but the post office delivered it anyway. To show her thanks to the post office, Nana contacted the media.

Here is the article in Utah

Well, today, the St. Louis media contacted us and wanted to interview Miss Kat. They came down to her school and talked with her for about an hour and a half. She did an amazing job, and we are so proud of her. For those who don't know, Miss Kat was completely non-verbal at age 5 when she received her first cochlear implant. It has been 4 years and a lot of work, but she is doing so great!!!

WOW - that is so cute! Your daughter is adorable!

By the way - my mother was one of the very first cases to have an implant. She took a big risk, when the procedure was experimental, in the hopes that younger people would benefit. I will show her this clip tomorrow - I know your daughter is exactly why she wanted to have it done. She is 93, and hears better than she ever has in her life!

Thank your mother for us. She and other pioneers made it possible for my little girl to have to opportunity to communicate with the world!
