This is totally goofy and just for fun and even a tad embarrassing but you ladies are my sharing partners so here goes. I totally peed on baking soda today as a fun and totally for novelty gender prediction. Supposedly if it fizzes its a boy , no fizz and you've got a girl!
Mine fizzed!
I've also convinced my 12yo DD to pee on baking soda for comparison! Lol! Fun science stuff right?!

Again, this is totally for silly fun and time killer. Anyone wanna try? Come on, ya know ya wanna!!!

What we need are the moms who are getting those snazzy materniT blood tests to pee on the baking soda. They'll know the sex of their babes in a couple days!

Good idea banana. Nothing happened when dd did it... She wants to do it again later so we will try it again. Lol. She's having fun w it. I wonder if ya drank a bunch of kombucha n did it if it would fizz or vinegar for that matter. Lol. Either way this is fun n silly. I keep as much of that stuff around as I can!

That's a good point! Have her drink or eat something acidic and see if makes a difference. That would be fun!

Interesting! Supposedly if you have a more acidic ph in your cervical fluid it favors girls, so this is consistent with that. But, your ph can change according to your diet and other factors in a short period of time, which is probably why this "test" is not that reliable. But fun, yes! I'd rather just see what my urine ph is at the first prenatal visit though!

I have a friend that makes everyone pee on a certain kind of Drano crystals (that's a drain cleaner, not sure if they sell it with the same name in other countries) for gender prediction. She and her test subjects have done it about a dozen times and have only been wrong once, supposedly. I think the optimum time frame is past 14 weeks, I'll have to ask her for sure.

I'll pee on some baking soda today, just for you guys. My MaterniT21 tests should be in any day now, so I can let you know if it worked.

I did this a couple of weeks ago and it didn't fizz. I have a feeling I'm having a girl, but it could be just wishful thinking after having 2 boys lol

  I was just thinking it would be easier to see the results and if I need to take a shower anyway its a wash.  Oh my that was a knee slapper.  Ok, well I forgot to do it and I'm naking at the moment so I will have to remember tomorrow.

Oh man, I'm turning into my hubby.  He does dumb jokes like that all the time.  lol

Anyway, I tried the baking soda thing this am and no fizz!!  I'm hoping for a girl.  I will let you all know if it is the end of February when we have our u/s.  So exciting!!
