This is my updated list:

Things to do:

  • PICK A NAME
  • Pull the cosleeper, changing pad, car seat and other baby items out of storage and clean them up
  • Sort through all the baby stuff and decide what we're going to keep and use, what we're saving as keepsakes, what we can sell, and what needs to go to goodwill.
  • Wash all old and new baby clothes, blankets, cloth diapers etc - sort through the cloth diapers that were given to us to see what we really have.
  • Organize diaper station and baby's dresser
  • Wash bottles, pump & accessories, figure out what is useable and what needs to be replaced
  • Figure out if I can get a new pump through insurance (I think I can) and if not, I'll need to buy a new one.
  • Stock freezer with ready-made meals, snacks and crockpot meals
  • Write up birth plan in case we need to transfer to the hospital
  • Get my bed set up  (probably not until mid-march)
  • Make a few frozen witch hazel pads
  • Get stuff together for “maternity leave” from shop
  • Take Maternity/Family Photos
  • Buy / Mail Birth Beads
  • Teach Bee how to use the camera so she can help video the birth
  • Sell baby and maternity items we’re not keeping
  • Have Patti & Liz over to help clean house

Things to buy

  • Make a decision (and then buy) something to store dirty diapers in
  • Buy a swing, nursing supplies/tanks, cloth diaper supplies (dlp, wipes), diaper bag, blankets
  • Pick up misc birth supplies from Audrey’s list
  • Decide on/order gentle birth and/or after ease tinctures and binder
  • Put together birth tools basket - massage lotion & tools, music play lists, essential oils etc
  • Get hoses for filling the pool, figure out how to attach them to the sinks – turn hot water up as high as it will go.
  • Decide what we're going to do for a birth announcement
  • Take the girls to make a Build A Bear for the baby
  • Put together some goodies for the girls to keep them occupied during labor.
  • Get snacks together for birth team
  • Buy supplies (and then make) a belly cast
  • Thank you gifts for doulas/midwives

Done:

  • Order birth kit
  • Finish Darnell’s basket (baby shower hostess thank you gift)
  • Maternity massage
  • 3D ultra sound
  • Baby Shower
  • Buy Thank you cards

To Do:

1. Deep clean house

2. Check out consignment shop(s) for cloth diapers/clothes

3. Decide carseat(s)

4. Pack hospital bag

5. Get DF to figure out which pump his insurance will cover, and see what do we need to do

6. Clean out car

7. Buy the stuff for freezer/crock pot meals

8. Actually make and freeze meals

9. Get the rails on the top bunk so DD and DS can at least start out the night in their own beds

10. Pick a name

11. Write up a birth plan

To Buy:

1. Clothes

2. 1, 2, or 3 carseats

3. Bed for DF and I

4. Cloth diapers/cloth diaper accessories

5. Take the kids to Build-a-Bear to build the baby a bear (Hope you don't mind my stealing this, firespiritmelody. It sounded like such a neat idea, and I know DD and DS will love it.)

6. Figure out something to give DD and DS from the baby

7. Full-figure/plus size nursing bras and/or just some nursing tanks

8. Some wraps/slings. Probably a Moby, at least, for now.

9. A double stroller, and/or an umbrella stroller (for DD or DS, because one of them is always saying their legs hurt/they are tired of walking)

10. Maybe a playpen/pack and play. Not sure about this, though.

I knew we didn't have too much on the "To Buy" list, we're trying to buy as little as possible, because I just don't like having *stuff*, and we don't have a huge amount of room, but I didn't realize there was so much other things left on my "before baby comes" list, especially because I know I'm missing some stuff.

I don't mind at all! I started the tradition when we were expecting my 2nd daughter and the pictures of DD1 presenting the bear to her sister at birth were so precious! Then we took both DD's to make it for DD3 and youngest DD did the presenting - again, SO CUTE! Can't help but do it again this time!

Perfect... I was just thinking I need a list.  I feel so flustered and nothing's getting done.  Lots of repeats of your list!

1. potty train ds2 and solve ds1's poop accidents

2. buy a crib, mattress

3. wash all the baby stuff

4. buy a pump and a few bottles

5. review some breastfeeding books; it's been a while. buy one first

6. kegels and other stretches/exercises

7. perineal massage

8. start listening to some hypnosis cds

9. order some belly binders

10. shouldn't be a priority, but order a cute headband / ruffled bloomer set for newborn pics

11. pick a middle name!  Eve!

12. pick out / design birth announcements

13. pick a pediatrician for the hospital stay only

14. pack hospital bag

15. take boys to build-a-bear to make teddy for baby

16. pick a preschool for ds2

17. plan and execute ds2's birthday party

feels good to cross things off.  I guess a lot of things left are ongoing though.

firespiritmelody, thanks for the build a bear idea... we had a ton of fun, and took my nephew too who's expecting a baby brother next month.  Of course, we showed up the same time as a 12-child birthday party, but oh well.

Just the basics:

1.  Make some freezer meals.  And pray very very hard that other people make some for me

2.  Order some more diapers with my deflected birthday money

3.  Clean my house

4.  Pull out the bin of baby girl clothes to see what is still usable and hit the thrift stores and outlets to fill in the gaps

I keep coming here to read this and my eyes glaze over. I can't even contemplate and formulate a list in my head. This might be a bit of a problem in the coming weeks... Or I'll just go into overdrive/panic mode and do a bunch of stuff in a short period of time. Oi.

Looks like we wont be selling our futon after all. DH cleaned it this past weekend but a potential buyer came over and noticed some permanent stains (thanks to our dogs) - there goes some money were were going to use to buy furniture for the LO. Sigh.

5. Take the kids to Build-a-Bear to build the baby a bear (Hope you don't mind my stealing this, firespiritmelody. It sounded like such a neat idea, and I know DD and DS will love it.)

Bethany, I think that's the carseat we used for my son when he was around 1-3 yrs old. We didn't use it for the newborn stage since we had a bucket one from before.
