not in the same boat- but had a friend whose now 5 year old had the same situation.  he was very carefully monitored but birth was nothing remarkable and if we hadn't been praying for him his entire in utero life, wouldn't know that he had this issue!

My husbands ex wife had that with their second child. They didn't find out until after birth though. She had a cleft lip and slightly underdeveloped left lung, but other than that was fine. She is 6 now and a bundle of energy who is smart as a whip!

I've known two friends whose babies had this. One had declined US during pregnancy and wasn't discovered till birth- baby was totally fine. The other was monitored closely during pregnancy and baby was perfect!

My 20-wk u/s also revealed a 2-vessel (single artery) cord. We've actually decided not to do any additional testing and are planning a homebirth. Our reasoning was 1) all of the rest of her anatomy was developed & functioning normally at that point, and 2) most of these cases are misdiagnosed during the u/s. Al ot of the time the cord is actually fine, it's just that the 2 arteries have merged into one. My midwife has delivered a few babies with supposed 2V cords and all have been fine. Finally, even if there is a problem, such as kidney or heart murmur, it's not going to be something that even the hospital is going to deal with ASAP (as far as surgery). We'll have time to get her to the hospital if needed after birth. We're comfortable with our decision, and she's been growing & developing right on target. Good luck!
