OMG seriously! I could wear shorts and tank tops and be fine. At night, I sleep with one sheet and sometimes a thin blanket. My husband, on the other hand, sleeps with the sheet, the blanket, and the down comforter folded over twice! yeesh!

I feel like I am stinky.  I remember this from my other pregnancies too.  I don't normally shower daily but I am feeling like my under arms and (ahem) lady bits need to be showered everyday.  It probably sounds silly if you are one who showers daily but it's just not part of my routine so it feels quite inconvenient.

Yup, 100% agreed on this!

i keep losing jelly out of me.. is this the mucous plug? i lost loooads the other day..

Yes, I've started as well.  Might just be discharge, could be the mucus plug.  But the plug re-generates itself so unless you have bloody show with it it does not mean that labor is just around the corner or anything.  I lost mine for weeks and weeks last time too.

Any new symptoms as we near the end?

I think baby has dropped, so walking is suddenly less comfortable and starting yesterday I was getting sharp, jabbing like pains on my cervix.  yikes!

I'm actually surprisingly not miserable at this point!  I remember 36 weeks with my first - I have a picture where I just look like I want to die.  My face was totally puffed, couldn't wear any shoes or rings, persistent back and shoulder pain, etc.  I will be 36 weeks this Sunday, and I feel hardly any of that!  Of course there is still time for everything to deteriorate . . . :)

My few complaints are:  baby seems to either be sitting or stepping on my bladder all the time.  My face is fatter than usual, making most pictures quite unattractive!  (I always have a round face, so this gets exaggerated with pregnancy.)  I have what I finally discovered are varicose veins in my vulva.  Yes, that is as awful as it sounds.  Constant itching, pulsing, pressure etc.  I thought I had a yeast infection for the longest time, but had no other symptoms!  My midwife took one look and said, "Oh yeah - it's just like hemorrhoids but up front!"  That's probably my worst problem.

I wake up with stiff fingers and have some numbness and tingling in the morning or when I do repetitive action (kneading bread, etc).  My blood pressure has been eh.  I checked it at Whole Foods today in one of those arm-cuff machines, and it was 138/73 while I was wrangling my daughter and keeping her from pressing the STOP button.  So I feel like that's pretty okay!  It tends to really rise when I'm with the midwife, which is irritating.

Oh PM, those varicose veins sound rough!  I'm so sorry!

This baby is generally carrying lower so if I try to go for a walk the underside of my belly hurts like the dickens.  I feel so huge, though I'm measuring right on, that my whole belly is just sore by mid afternoon.   I am really hoping I can get in to see the chiro tomorrow to help my hips.  I was really pleasantly surprised at how good they had been this pregnancy but this past week I can barely walk by mid-day.

I just told DH we needed to start having a lot more sex to get this kid out!  It's a good thing that I have strong convictions about letting babies cook as long as they need to or i would totally be hounding my doc to schedule me early.

Mask of pregnancy & insomnia are both getting worse, thank goodness for all my freckles hiding the first and naps are helping with the second. My insomnia is usually that I wake up at 3 or 4 and cannot get back to sleep, ugh!

I'm waddling more and having to sit with my legs spread out, but I haven't really dropped yet, just my belly is so wide! My HB is actually better now since the babies are crowding away from my stomach, unfortunately they are crowding onto my bladder so I feel like I have to pee all the time smile.gif

I do have some stretch marks too finally to add to the ones I got last time, oh well smile.gif
post #130 of 152

oh yes insomnia definitely. I usually go to bed at 9ish, wake up at midnight and 2am, and then around 4am I'll wake up and not be able to go back to sleep. If I do go back to sleep, then I wake up wide awake at 6:45am and there is no going back to sleep then!

I'm so surprised I don't have much heartburn because I had it HORRIBLE in the 1st trimester!

My biggest problem is a bit of swelling and remembering to drink water and keep my legs up. And my belly is sagging even lower (I don't think the babies are "dropping" though) and crushing my pelvis. It is pretty excruciating to walk or get pants on because I can't lift my legs up. I need to ask my doctor about it next week, although a support belt has helped a little bit.

backache and lots of trapped nerves-ouch!! tired and breathless (altho less breathless so maybe babys dropped a bit).. leakyish boobs, restlessness, swollen ankles, pooling, appetite is goin to almost zero again, struggling to remember to eat, feeling faint a lot, feeling sick a lot and generally feel like my body cant take much more! .. midwife says she hopes baby comes at 37/38 weeks for me as im so exhausted!! we shall seeeeeee

Time, so glad to hear from you!  I imagine you've been busy, but I've been worried about you since it's been so long since you posted!

I'm adding insomnia and hemroids to the list.  Sigh.  I was wide awake at 5:30am.  That made for a very productive morning, I had our front hall closet cleaned and organized, a load of baby clothes washed and dried, and a batch of waffles made before DH and DS woke up.  Thank-goodness I had today off and was able to have a nap this afternoon!

Oh i am so sorry that insomnia is rearing it's ugly head!  (and the other things too)

Times, good to "hear" from you!  Sorry you are having such a rough go. 37/38 weeks is pretty close for you, right?  As least babe has stayed in this far for you.  hug2.gif

Well, I went to the chiro today but I am not sure it helped.  :(  I took tylenol to get through the last two evenings but I HATE doing that and I am not ok with doing it all the time.  Guess I just have to tough it out and hope it gets better.  Stretching is hard since I can't move my body very well at this point but I need to try.  I really want to be able to go on some walks!

Uh-huh. I've been dealing with excessive/strongly odored vaginal discharge since the beginning of this. RAW probiotics- the "Vaginal Health" one- have helped quite a bit, but I reaaaalllly look forward to it going away.

I've also been feeling naseous towards the evening, and have trouble really wanting to eat anything substantial. I mainly want fruit, nuts, tea, chocolate ... but then last night, ALL I could stomache the thought of eating was brick-oven pizza with just sauce and those melted mozzerella balls and basil. And it was delish, too  ;)

Sleep hasn't been too bad, I must say. I'm thankful for that. But still, a month or more to go. Probably more.

Wow, hormone central over here. I haven't had any emotional breakdowns until the past couple days. Anyone else? Just today I was tired, dehydrated and hungry and DH said one negative comment to me, about how I was being negative lol, and I burst into tears and had to rush to lie down in bed. It's now put me into a funk. I can't deal with that happening every time something doesn't go my way. Way too much on the system!

This is why I had to stop going to the gym! I would get too sore and then not be able to stretch afterward making it so I couldn't get unsore.

I've got the insomnia too. I don't seem to be tired until 11 or 11:30 at night then I sleep really really hard until 3 or 4 and then cant go back to sleep until 6 and sleep really hard but only until 7.

The last few days my heartburn has been annoying. I can't really say that it is that "bad" because of how awful I had it all the way through with my first pregnancy but I have taken Zantac twice this week for it.

My only other major whine is that I am back to having every single food have a bad after taste in my mouth. I think it is technically called something like dysguesia, but man is it annoying. I eat something and then get the bad taste and then eat something else to get rid of the taste and so on and it feels like it never goes away. I think it is just a sign that I am getting close to the end since I also get it so terribly when I am first pregnant

The heartburn has been kicking my ass lately too!! Mostly it's my own stupid fault for eating too much and drinking too much while I'm eating, and too close to bedtime. I just get sooooo thirsty, it's hard to slow myself down. My apple cider vinegar cure is still working but man is it nasty.

Loogiejane, I'm right there with you.  I feel like most of my time these days is spent waddling around and moping.  Oh, and I cried at a Budweiser commercial not too long ago...

Sleep?  Who needs it.  I think I had to pee 5 times last night.  On the upside when I was sleeping I had a really fascinating dream about hiding in an antique light shop with Scott McGillivray and some of the characters from Downton Abbey.  Who doesn't love hiding from creepy men, sneaking around and just as the kids woke up things somehow turned to some sort of money printing plot with JFK coming down the hallway.  Weird.
