Haha I have this problem too!!  Totally unaware of where my body is in space.  I've been running into stuff, knocking stuff off the kitchen counter with the bump, etc.
Same here, my last work trip I was trying to turn sideways to get in between things (construction site) and realizing I was at least as big sideways now lol.gif And I've knocked stuff off of surfaces with my belly and DH is complaining when we hug and DD complaining of sliding off my lap.

Seriously, I feel like being pregnant is prep for being a senior.  Same problems: hemroids, vericose veins, urinary incontinence, back pain, SI issues, fatigue, heart burn, shortness of breath....lol.

I needed that today, thank you!  lol.gif  I'm so tired and my whole body hurts today and I'm feeling all whiny about it.  I was so determined to just stay positive and enjoy this pregnancy but geez it's hard sometimes!

Kate, I would try the compression hose if you haven't already!

I usually start to feel like I am "at capacity" about now.  My skin feels tight and I'm starting to feel a bit crowded.

Hehehe ..my tummy is starting the beginnings of popping but nowhere near any of these things lol however my procreoception which was rubbish to start with is now abysmal!! I also am getting the feeling heavy bit altho I'm still able to be carried and piggy backed Its just extra important they hitch me up when piggybacking as otherwise I just fall off lol(not such an issue when your 105 lbs

Agreed about the old lady problems.. What exactly are varicose veins like? I'm wondering if I have some but just don't know what they are like if they are ..

I'm actually feeling really good. My belly got bigger faster with this baby so when I look down and see a big tummy or bump into a counter I'm surprised.

I do get a really terrible sharp, stabbing pain in my left rib that goes through to my back when I'm pregnant and it starts earlier with each baby. It's not happening every day, but darn does it hurt! Unfortunately, there's no predicting when it will happen and no one activity/lack of activity instigates it, it's totally random.

Leg cramps are waking me in the middle of the night. And I get up to pee twice per night on average. And I'm switching sides I sleep on probably a million times a night because the arm I'm sleeping on falls asleep too easily then hurts, and the hip I'm laying on aches.

I'm trying to keep my activity level up because the more active I am the better I feel. Physically as well as emotionally.

Despite my complaints I really am feeling great. This really is the "honeymoon" phase for me. I feel energized and I'm not waddling yet ;-)

The most annoying symptom is this gnarly puffy inflammed varicose vein on my outer leg above my knee.  Lovely.  I asked about it at my last appointment and the OBGYN said I can't do anything until after the birth.  Just another "joy of pregnancy!"  Ugh...it annoys me.

I feel like I'm getting "heavy" when I work around the house (like going up and down the stairs a lot).  "The bump" definitely is starting to get in the way during normal stuff.

I'm doing pregnancy yoga and a weekly ballet class.  I got a little light-headed last week during ballet, so I won't push it as much this week.  I really enjoy the stretching movements as a change-up from sitting at a desk most of the day.

Oh, and DH teases me because my head gets congested at night when I sleep.  I know I'm breathing with my mouth open because when I wake up, my lips and throat are so dry.  But then once I an up and around, I blow my nose and it's over with.  Very strange....

I have a varicose vein too that is bothering me. I have noticed it the last few days and I was thinking about getting a compression sock for it. I wore them when I waitressed when pregnant with DD and they helped a ton.

I am also congested at night I have been wearing the oh so attractive breathe rights at night.

I just joined the colostrum club! DS has been nursing through the whole pregnancy, always telling me that there is somethign in there (he jsut turned 4, only nurses before bed and sometimes during the night), but now I can actually express colostrum. it doesn't leak on its own though, which is nice - it didn't with DS either.

FINALLY starting to feel better from the pneumonia! hope i don't jinx myself!!

no other symptoms yet ... though food is starting to not appeal to me as much anymroe, which is a major bummer (I usually have a huge appetite and lvoe to cook and eat). I'm not nauseous, but nothing particularly appeals to me. :(

Did I mention insomnia, ugh! Last 2 nights tossing and turning all night, too hot, too uncomfortable, too cold, etc. Oh well, that will all be cured when I'm getting up to nurse two newborns eyesroll.gif
post #28 of 152

I've got the insomnia too. DD woke up around 3 lastnite and quickly went back to sleep but then I was awake all night until everybody was up at 8.

Yup, I've had this for about the last 5 or 6 days.  Just sleeping really lightly and waking frequently, sometimes having a hard time falling asleep as well.  Last night I took 3mg of melatonin and slept SO much better.

Oh, and I have to admit I have horrid pregnancy brain.  I can't remember people's names or names for things (like I just forgot the word "melatonin" and had to look it up, yesterday I couldn't remember a client's name that I am meeting with today when I was telling my boss about the meeting) and am suddenly directionaly challenged.

I have a varicose vein as well (pre-pregnancy) and my midwife said that those compression socks you can get for flying work the same. Which is cool because I already have a pair from when I flew while pregnant last time. Not sure if they are cheaper, but if they are it might be a good option:-)

Hi ladies,

I'm not quite in the third trimester yet, 25 weeks today actually. But I feel like its close, new symptoms are definitely creeping up on me. The most uncomfortable being groin pain, which may be round ligament pain? It comes and goes in intensity and sometimes feels unbearable. I really notice it when turning over in bed and climbing stairs or after sex or a hike. Its only in my groin and I really want it to go away. I'm trying one of those hip belts from the Chiro but it doesn't seem to target the area, a hot water bottle between my legs helps the most when its severe.

The peeing at night thing is annoying, I agree and I'm also having a hard time getting comfortable at night.

Since 20 weeks I have pregnancy gingivitus, I woke up one morning and my gums were swollen and bleeding when I floss and brush. It sucks, I have veneers on my top teeth and one is starting to recede all of a sudden. I started flossing all day, gargalling with salt water and using colloidial silver. The swelling went down after a few days of that but they are still bleeding so the accupuncturist recommended I do oil pulling, something new to me. It's an ayurvedic practice of swishing sesame oil in your mouth for 20 minutes every morning after brushing your teeth and before consuming anything. Its yucky so my sweet dh is doing it too so I'm motivated. Apparently it whitenes your teeth too and pulls all the toxins out of your body and can prevent root canals and heal gum recession. Has any one done it before? This is day three so I'll let you know how it works.

I had one sneeze that resulting in a little pee, it caught me off guard and made me laugh. I hope theres not too much more of it.

Theres my long answer on symptoms, overall feeling pretty great though.

I've tried to start doing it a few times but the kids don't get that I can't talk to them so I just can't do it.  I'd have to wake up before them and that's not happening right now.

Thank god someone finally mentioned groin pain. I have to say though, I have had it since early on, even 8 weeks I think. It comes on strong when I walk, worse when I walk fast, and only doesnt bother me when I am sitting with my legs spread wide open. It SUCKS....and, tmi but it's like, my *entire* groin area. Think anywhere I'd get a brazilian wax. Top, sides, everywhere. It feel like the muscles under the whole pube region are in such pain. When I mentioned it to my MW early on she turned to ligament pain. But I dunno....I feel like it's something more. Or something else. Stretching helps. And DH massaging helps too. But both things help only temporarily. Not sure what to do about it. Literally the idea of a long walk is dreadful to me. I don't want it to interfere with my homebirth and ability to birth as I choose.

Last time I went to the dentist for a cleaning the hygienist gave me a "gum massager". She said if I stick to it everyday it will help strengthen my gums and help with the bleeding. I floss and brush everyday too but I couldnt do much more with that. I did notice after a couple weeks how the gum massager helped. But then I got lazy and I need to get on it again.

I am only 25 weeks as well, but need somewhere to complain about these things!

I have developed vulvar varicosities with this pregnancy and they are awful. The varicosities travel up the back of my right thigh/buttocks and into my labia. If I stand for even a few minutes, the discomfort/pressure is really bad and sometimes when I sit on the toilet it actually feels like I am crowning...not surprising since the area/labia is swollen and hard. I am a bit concerned about one of these rupturing during birth, though from what I have read it isn't really a concern. Anyone else dealing with this?

My other big thing is sacral/right pelvic pain from an old pelvic injury (falling off a horse onto my right hip/back), that worsens with pregnancy thanks to that lovely relaxin hormone. I have been seeing a chiro regularly and am really out of alignment every time I go (twice weekly, then weekly, now trying every other week). It is just so frustrating to have my activity this limited so early in pregnancy. I wanted to be able to walk a couple miles a day, but between the varicosities and the joint issues, I can barely take care of the house and kids and have to spend a good amount of my day laying down or the pain is terrible. I am concerned about how de-conditioned I will be by the end of pregnancy. I was thinking of trying some light swimming, but it is difficult to get to the pool (and leave in 2 degree weather with wet hair!). Wouldn't it be wonderful to have an indoor heated pool at home?

And the heartburn...oh my! It makes me have a constant tickle in my throat and cough. I think I may need a prescription for this as it is interfering with my appetite and sleep and I don't like the idea of popping Tums all day/night long.

Ok...enough complaining smile.gif I really do love feeling baby move all the time. Seriously...I can pause at any point, day or night, and feel her move within a minute. Sometimes I am afraid she is going to rupture the bag of waters from the strength of her kicks.

moriahmoonstar, just wanted to chime in quickly - i LOVE oil pulling! you don't have to use sesame oil, if that grosses you out - other recommended oils are coconut oil and sunflower oil. i feel like it definitely has improved my overall dental health. like CoBabyMaker, i got out of the habit when DS started school this past september because it felt rushed in the morning when i wouldn't talk for 15 minutes ... so now i try to just get it in at least once a day. ideally you do it on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning, but that doesn't work for my schedule right now, so whenever i think of it i do it - a good time is also to pop a spoonful before you go take a shower - that's at least 10 minutes where you aren't required to chat with anyone! let us know how it works for you - my DH has had great results as well as he used to have a bad bad breath problem (despite frequent brushing and flossing) and that has pretty much disappeared except when he is really hungry (the hunger-breath thing is an issue he's had since childhood). my mom also does it and her dentist couldn't believe the improvement in whiteness, overall cleanliness and health. so keep it up! :)

anyone feeling food aversion again?? or is that just me ...

Me too. Also no appetite and then nausea after dinner. I think it has to do with heartburn/reflux to some extent. It has me a little bit worried about weight gain, as I am only 11 lbs up at 25 weeks (BMI of 20.5 to start).

I have had this a bit - not as severely as you are describing.  I thought for the longest time I had a yeast infection or a UTI, but there was no smell, no discharge - just this burning, itching and pain up high around the urethra area.  Finally I realized it was like I was getting hemorrhoids, but up front!  With my first birth, I pushed so hard that I distended that area, so I'm not surprised that it's not been "quite the same" since then!  I find that using harsh soaps makes it worse.  I've switched to just rinsing the private area with warm water, no soap and no scrubbing.

I am keeping the Tums company in business. I developed some form of acid reflux before I even got pregnant (I blame it on not taking care of myself) but it's so much worse now with pregnancy. It's mostly bad at night and the worst when I lay down. I'm consuming up to probably 3 Tums a day, not all at once, and I even try to eat a half. Ive also been trying to drink glasses of milk instead. I find that helps for a little while, and is yummy :) I think I've got something more than just reflux though. I think something fishy is going on my anatomy. The SECOND I lay down I get a gargle sound in my throat like every 20 seconds. Like air is escaping from my esophagus or something, I dunno. Ugh but then the past couple nights I've woken up to actual stomach acid in my throat. The worst.
