Breast Pump Cost - PSA

Supposedly, one of the Obamacare items that goes into effect this year is that Breast pumps can be covered by your health insurance.  However, some insurance companies were grandfathered in so that they don't need to offer them, and others, you have to buy them through a medical supply store (not Target or Babies R Us).

So definitely put a call into your insurance company to find out what they cover, if anything.

Also, if you have an FSA or HSA, Breast Pumps and breast pump supplies are considered reimbursable through those.

Mine is grandfatherered. Hygeia has a great forum on their website all about dealing with insurance and which medical supply companies have pumps in stock.

Thanks for the info - I spent way too much time today researching Hygeia breast pumps.  I had never heard of them before.

I have a Hygeia and for the most part loved it.  There were a few nitpicky things I can complain about, but overall it worked great for me.  Planning to just get more accessory kits this time and use the same pump.

I've been following Hygeia on fb and it sounds like my insurance won't cover it. I will try to pester them later tho. Right now I'd just like them to cover my MW. ;/
