We've just moved and I'm seriously considering going into my new doctor and demanding treatment based on symptoms regardless of testing.
I have Celiac and Fibro. Both are fairly well controlled. I do get pain at times but usually only in flares. I haven't been seriously glutened in over a year now.
It took 6 years from my Celiac being triggered until diagnosis and so had to demand testing against everyone saying "you don't have it". It also took 23ish years to finally be told it was Fibro (what I knew since I was in my teens anyways).
I can't lose weight even watching diet, portion sizes and exercising (granted I could do better on this last one). I alternate between freezing and fine, my feet (and sometimes hands) are always cold. Headaches, tingling hands and limbs, heavy periods, miscarriages, hair loss (more than usual for me since having kids), feeling weak and tired constantly.
A few weeks ago I was *really* sick with a bad Gastro/norovirus bug. Once I recovered from that (~ 1week) my general health has been horrible. I'm back to having huge anxiety attacks, feeling really depressed, even more tired (I could sleep all day), I'm crying constantly... And my period is 7-9 days late and I've taken 4 pink dye tests, all negative. I haven't had ANY PMS symptoms and so usually get really bad symptoms. This last 8 months or so my period has really changed. I had 18+ years of clockwork periods with no break (even after childbirth I had my cycle back at 6 weeks and 3 weeks with EBF)... But the last 8ish months I've been "late" a couple times, although never this late, and even missed an entire period. And my skin is so dry it's cracking, part of that is our move to a new climate but I can't seem to get it moisture regardless of how many creams/lotions/potions/oils I add.
I need to make an appointment but I want to make sure that I'm not crazy demanding a trial of thyroid treatment even if my levels come back as "normal".
