Anyone in the Cambridge? Things to do?

Hello, Ive just moved to Cambridge from NB and am actually staying in one of the family units at a local shelter due to some unfortunate events. Anyways my bf and I wanted to know if anyone knew of things to do during the day to keep the lil one and us away from people and things that can be a bad influence?

I'm in Hamilton but a lot of stuff is similar across the province. Look into Ontario Early Years Centres - they are drop-in places with toys and activities where families can hang out during the day. They have info on other community programs and may have some useful leads for you if you need any assistance. I started taking DD when she was just a couple of months old and made some great mommy friends there.
Another good place is the local library. They have toys and puzzles in the kids' section and can be a great place to spend a few hours without necessarily checking anything out.
Also look into nearby schools. The one just two blocks from me has a literacy centre for young kids where they can participate in storytime or sing a longs or simply play with toys or paint a picture.

It costs 50 dollars for the year, but kW momstown has been a life saver for me. Lots of Cambridge events a play groups as well as message boards to connect with other moms. Good luck!
