yes! i have been feeling this for a few weeks - i did with #3 too ..  practice breathing is good :)

Kellybeth- hope you're feeling ok.. that is scary!

my mother in law bought us 3 flats of strawberries, so i am keeping busy with those... made some jam, going to freeze some for smoothies, then make more jam. (no idea what she was thinking?!) . also made 2 doz muffins and some elderberry syrup this afternoon..  tomorrow i need to make a bazillion more jars of jam (twice what i made today in order to use up enough strawberries..at least it is good and we won't have to make it again for YEARS) and corn muffins and i'll be caught up just in time to sit here bored all weekend...

nothing going on labor-sign wise other than the same old contractions and pressure.. feeling ok though so i can't complain too much.. my belly actually feels like it might tear open right above my belly button, not sure why its so stretched there this time.. other than baby's bottom is always sticking out there..  you'd think on #4 i'd be stretched out enough for it to not hurt this much!

I am 39 weeks 3 days. I am a VBAC after 2 previous C-sections.

Dr. today said I needed to spontaneous labor or I would have to have another section on the 15th.

Which puts me at the 42nd week mark. I am NOT going to have the section! I WILL labor! Just send

me all your prayers and encouraging words PLEASE!!! I need them. I have had a few contractions.

I am 75% effaced and 1cen. dilated. But those numbers do not worry me. I know it can start up

real fast and just go! I am anticipating it. I told my husband tonight that there can be NO stress!

I need all the oxytocin I can get and no stress burning it up! I said we need to be intimate as much as

he can possibly handle. He liked that but does not think he has the energy for it...I was thinking that

if I did not labor this weekend that I would try acupuncture. Anyone have success with it before? I will go

Monday if I don't labor this weekend. If ANYONE has other suggestions I WILL love to have them ALL!

I used Moxabustion to turn this baby and it worked in 4 days!! I do believe I will labor I am just nervous!

Please send me all your encouraging words!!!

Vanessa

I had acupuncture the day before I went into labor with DD.  I THINK it is what got labor started, but it's hard to say for sure of course.  DH was doing a really good job of applying prostaglandins to my cervix, too ;)  And I was using a double electric breast pump to stimulate my nipples several times a day (maybe as often as every 2 hours?  maybe it was 4.  I forget).  I also tried some homeopathics, but didn't feel like they were doing much.  And I had my membranes stripped RIGHT before I started having strong contractions.  In retrospect, I know I was already in labor when I went in to have my membranes stripped, but the contractions weren't very regular.

HAPPY FEBRUARY everyone!!!!!!! IT'S OUR MONTH!!!!!

I am so antsy today. Doesn't help it's only in the 20-30's today and very windy. The boys are antsy too... This would be a great day to have a baby! HA! ;) My due date is Monday, but I am not feeling like I am that close to labor at this point. :/ Still having sporadic contractions (mostly braxton hicks but some are painful) and lots of discharge but that is about it. I feel like I am still probably a week away from BABY.. glad it is almost the weekend!!

My Ultrasound put my due date as today (2/1) but I have never gone on time with their due dates.... by LMP I was due sometime last week, by a fudged LMP I am due Monday, and by Ovulation I am due Wednesday 2/6.... so either way--- SOOOON!!!!

DD1 woke up last night with a fever and saying she had achey legs and arms.... NOOOOOO not the flu.

I was feeling so anxious to get this started and now I am worried about having the flu in our house when the baby comes.

no flu!!!!

may it be something viral and short lived and NOT FLU!!!  quick recovery to all!!!

HAPPY FEBRUARY!!!

a few of us have hit that window of the week before- which is vague and hopeful, right!?!

LMP- Feb 1st, Ovulation (way more accurate for me) Feb 7th- so we're safely in that window.

let's get some of those 39 weekers out!!!  right?!?  statistically we should be having way more of those than 38 weekers!

oooh noooo!!!!! praying for a quick 24 hour bug that is NOT THE FLU!!!

Even by Ovulation Date with DS2, I went to 42 weeks. :/ I did have a bad sinus infection those last two weeks, so I am wondering if that caused me to go later than I would have. By LMP with him, I was 44 weeks! lol.. so I definitely go by ovulation dates (and am careful to find the exact date) for due dates.. and know that I may even go 2 weeks after that.

good to know another mama who went 44 weeks by LMP!  my 3rd was 44 weeks by LMP, but my midwife swears she wasn't over 41 weeks by any signs when she was born. but man- stressful!

so Feb 25th is my POP date- my 42 weeks plus a day or two!

i wonder if your body kept the baby in to wait til you were better?  hmmmmm....

thankfully I had a wonderful MW who went by my ovulation date for my due date, so I never had that "40 week" date in my head for him! Going 2 weeks past a date is hard enough, I would go crazy if I went 4 weeks past! I still had to have a jump start into labor at 42 weeks, so I have no idea how long he would have baked on his own! With DS1, we went by LMP and I had to be medically induced at "42 weeks" which I later realized was actually only 1 day past what my due date should have been... Thankfully both babies have been very big and healthy (9+ lbs) and never had any issues from being induced.. I could tell that DS2 was cooked longer than DS1 though, DS1 had vernix etc left on him and DS2 came out completely clean! lol.. I wonder when this baby will come..... I was sure DS2 would come "on time" since I had my date exactly right. Maybe my body just likes to hold onto babies for a loooong time...

Just got back from the doctor... 2cm, 50% effaced!

She said she was optimistic that I'd be in labour soon and actually went far as to say "I might be seeing you this weekend" as I was leaving. I'm trying not to hold my breath though, since I do know that baby can fool us all and stay in for another couple weeks but I'm excited about the progress!

I don't know why doctors say this, they have no idea!  I was 2cm and 50% for weeks last pregnancy.  But you never know...

Get that flu away!! The kids came down with a cold yesterday/this morning and now I'm feeling it. Hoping it's just a cold. NO FLU NO FLU NO FLU.

titus2mama you can do it!

I'm due next Tuesday. Starting to think I'll go past 40 weeks. And maybe I want to if I'm going to be nursing a cold all weekend!

Same thing as yesterday going on here... More bloody show.  Yesterday it was a good amount upon waking and then smaller amounts all throughout the day.  Another good glob of it this morning and very pink.  I looked back at my birth record from ds2 and see that it was 4 days of bloody show before he came.

yesterday I got all my tasks done by 10 (vacuum, load of laundry, load of dishes, dinner in crockpot, shower) and today I'm just working on coffee so far.  Slept really poorly last night with about a hundred different dreams and a middle of the night waking to pee, then let the stupid dog out to pee, then deal with a pee accident in the bed.

Yesterday my boys had an okay day together but everything seemed so LOUD and was getting on my nerves.  Made me realize that I really really want to labor during the night so I don't even have to hear them.

And today it's raining a lot, so I can't just kick them out.  Waaaaah!  I secretly wish they both had a non-contagious fever that would keep them quiet and on the couch all day and has no other symptoms.

okay, time to get off my butt and into some clean clothes and start on my short list of tasks for today.

Oh, and a little fun thing that I ordered for baby's birth day gift, which I thought wouldn't get here in time, arrived yesterday.  :)

Progress is good and it is interesting to see how women are all different..... I know people who started labor at 0..... it could really happen at any time!

I always have a super long cycle, with short a short luteal phase.... so I never even tell doc or mw my LMP.... This cycle I ovulated on day 22, so I would already be almost 41 weeks..... I know based on ovulation predictors and fertility signs when I ovulated, so I am within a few days on either side based on conception date......

We didn't have an early US, so my dates could be off by a few days in either direction.  So, I am saying Feb 5-9 is my due date window.  Although, I am pretty sure I am due right around the 6th.  It is a little frustrating since I am feeling so done.

i never had an ovulation cycle, and haven't had a period in over 14 years. we just decided to start trying to have a baby and were successful within a month of doing so. i kept a journal with each day that we did it, and our due date falls within 2 days of my record, so i just go by that. having children was supposed to be a very difficult/if not impossible task for me according to my doctors. i still kept on some form of birth control while we've been together though. i feel like the luckiest woman in the world.

Anyone still trying to eat dates, I've been enjoying the homemade larabar recipes from here: http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/chocolate-covered-recipes/fudge-baby-mania/ A tasty way to get them in! :)

Wow, what amazing bodies we all have!  From no periods, to ovulating on day 22, to ovulating on day 7 (me), to whatever all you other women had going on... And babies for us all.  Beautiful and amazing!  Love it.

i was thinking that too! i was proud b/c this one i ovulated day 21, which is WAY earlier than my last two (day 33-40?!)

so i've been proud that my dates are somewhat accurate.

Kellybeth- have you been a vegan all these years?  as a raw foodist, many people didn't get periods (and i didn't get them regularly until after my first baby) and i know many vegans who didn't have regular 'cycles', and i had 4 a year.  but conceived each baby first try!

i always feel like these little people are specifically and blessedly chosen for this time.  and such blessings!  now to meet them!
