Another "is this normal" question - 2.5 years

Do some toddlers at 2.5 years (specifically boys) get overexcited and kinda hit/push in their exuberance? Sometimes he just seems to get super wound up; running around and pretty wild. My sister & I were the quiet, introspective, reader/thinker type, so I'm not sure if this is just normal toddler/boy excitement or something more.

Sometimes I just look at him with wide eyes and say WOW! This is unrelated to having been outside to run around or not. And we don't do sugar. What should I watch for?

I see this in my daughter. Overall she can be fairly calm, but yes there are times where she is a ball of energy bouncing off the walls.

My oldest was so rough, I purposely set up playdates with boys

It really depends on how much exercise my guy gets in a day. If I make sure to run him around take him to the park some kind of physical activity that satiates his need to get that out, then he can be much calmer in a day. He runs around like that if it is a lazy day or too cold to go out or whatever and then it is hard! but each kid really has their own personality in that regard too- my guy thankfully can be pretty calm as long as he gets those needs met where as I know some other little guys who just go and go and go and need to be constantly moving- just who they are.
