thanks!

So, I don't like the backpack style diaper bags when I baby wear personally. Too many straps. I am OK with the messenger style bag, but honestly, any bag you have to haul around while baby wearing seems to be a pain. I think the carriers that have built in pouches are a bit more convenient in that way. I keep my diaper bag in the car or on a shopping cart if I'm out typically.

Yes, cloth diapers do take up more space. How big of a bag you need depends on how long you tend to be out of the house. Cloth shopping bags can serve as extra storage in the car just as well. I really like the bags designed by http://www.etsy.com/shop/juanitashandmade she's out of town, but will be back home soon.

I definitely needed more space for cloth than sposies and also found it very useful to have two large sections: one for diapers and one for clothing (I had a heavy wetter and spitter upper so I always had two changes of clothing). Also a small wetbag was essential. I wish I'd gotten a backpack from the get-go instead of messing with messenger diaper bags but my DD didn't like being worn so I absolutely defer to the avid baby wearers on this one. I found a backpack ideal from about 12 months on though as DD wanted to practice walking (then running) all the time. I know jujube makes a bag with removable straps that will be a messenger or backpack so that may be worth looking into but I couldn't justify the cost. I got a regular backpack for $40 and it works amazingly well. Hth
