Anyone swear by Oscillococcinum for the flu? I've used it in the past to relieve symptoms but I understand from a friend that it can be used to prevent the flu by taking it when it's going around. Anyone using it for prevention?

Yes, I do suggest using it that way, but more if you've been exposed directly. I took it recently when I was tending to my son and husband who were both sick. I just felt off, had a headache. A few doses and that staved it off.
Camphora is a remedy that can be used if you get chilled... so chilled you cannot get warm. A dose or 2 of that can help the body re-balance. Likewise, arsenicum and nux vomica can be taken if there's concern, before any full-fledged symptoms come up. Arsenicum again for chill and if you're in an anxious state of mind, worried about getting sick. Nux vomica has more of an over-worked, stressed, run-down state. Especially if you've been up late, maybe not eating well, caffeine, etc...
hope that helps!
