SPOTTING! What's normal, what's special?

I would love some experience and opinions, please!  Spotting is something I have almost no experience but this cycle it surprised me.  Often I have read accounts of women spotting before BFPs.

It seems for some women a little bit of spotting is common during their LP.  I have never experienced it before.  I would like to know if, when a woman spots slightly a few days before AF is due, on one day and then it goes away for a few days, is that more likely to be implantation?  Can it sometimes just happen at random?

Do any of you normally spot at ovulation?  I had a VERY strong O pain this month and then a few spots the next day.  This spotting was also new to me.  I hoped it meant it was an awesome ovulation, which seems silly, but I'd love to feel like my hormones were actually functional.  Do any of you sometimes spot when you O?  Is it good or neutral, or a sign that my body is headed for premenopause or something?

(We have TTC for over three years and really dropped out of being active about. I do not think it will ever happen again for us which seems okay esp since we already have several children, but there is no known reason for us to be infertile and I have had very normal and regular cycles for years.)

Hi littlest birds. Well, when I was a teen and in my 20's sometimes I would spot a little around O time. It would be with the EWCF and was accompanied by very intense O pain (which has always been a norm for me). The spotting around O stopped at some point for some years. I had a m/c in November and have noticed that the O spotting has come back with my last couple of cycles.

I guess it is a normal occurrence for some, especially at O.

I thought it was implantation when I spotted at 8dpo, but I did get AF several days later.

the only time i ever spotted was on 8dpo. it looked like a quarter-sized spot of chocolate pudding (sorry!). i KNEW it was implantation bleeding, as i've never spotted before. 6 days later... bfp!
