Welcome to the October DDC! I'm Serenyd and Cindy-lu and I will be the co-leaders of this group. I'm the looking forward to getting to know everyone here. Here are a few questions you can answer to help us get to know each other.

1. Preferred name

2. EDD (estimated due date)

3. How long TTC (trying to conceive)

4. Part of the country you live in

5. How many kids you have

6. Profession

7. Hoping for a boy or girl (or don't care either way) and why

These questions are just for fun, you don't have to answer if you don't want to. I would like to create a master list with everyone's names and due dates, this is also just for fun and you don't have to participate unless you want to.

That's all for now, thanks everyone! joy.gif

Hi everyone!  I have been wanting to join a ddc for so long, I can't believe I finally can lol.  I'm still not 100% confident in this pregnancy, and don't think I will be until AF is officially late but I couldn't stop myself from going ahead and joining.

1. Preferred name: Meagan

2. EDD (estimated due date):  October 13th

3. How long TTC (trying to conceive):  This was our 2nd cycle TTC

4. Part of the country you live in:  I technically live in Hawaii but right now I am in Texas student teaching

5. How many kids you have:  I have one daughter who is almost 5

6. Profession: I am a student and SAHM

7. Hoping for a boy or girl (or don't either way) and why:  A boy, ever since I was pregnant with my daughter I have been dreaming of this same little boy lol.  Something inside me tells me he's mine and I just want to meet him (yes, I know that sounds crazy but it's true lol).

Hi there Meagan! Congratulations on your pregnancy! :-) I have had incredibly vivid dreams ever since this little ones conception, one was of my birthing a baby girl next to our bed by myself and catching her head and seeing lots of dark hair ( my sons have blonde hair and the other red hair) so not sure what that means. All my life i always thought I wanted two boys and a girl. In that order. I guess we'll wait and see.
In the state the gender scan is at 16weeks am I right? Here in nz it's at 20weeks.

I think it depends on the doctor.  My OB with Dd would not do them until 20 weeks.  I am going to be seeing him for the 1st half of this pregnancy and then hopefully switching to a homebirth midwife when I go back to Hawaii.

1. Preferred name: Serenyd is fine but my IRL name is also Danielle smile.gif

2. EDD (estimated due date): Oct 10th or 11th going from conception date, Oct 14th by LMP

3. How long TTC (trying to conceive): 3 months

4. Part of the country you live in: The Deep South (Natchez, MS)

5. How many kids you have: Three. A 9 yr old son, a 5 yr old son, and a 3 yr old daughter. My DP also has a 10 yr old son from a previous relationship and he's a part of our family too, but he lives with his mom/stepdad.

6. Profession: Registered Nurse, Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (not practicing yet), and Lactation Educator (CLEC)

7. Hoping for a boy or girl (or don't care either way) and why: I'm leaning toward girl cause I'd like my little girl to have a sister and we'd be set for baby clothes, but my gut feeling is that this baby will be a boy. I'd be happy with another little boy, in my experience little boys are less complicated than little girls to raise and they love their mamas! heartbeat.gif

The OB's here do scans at 20 weeks. I've never heard of doing them at 16 weeks. My last OB did a U/S at every visit, instead of using a doppler. He did a U/S at my first visit (12 weeks) and told me I was having a girl! And he was right.

Do you ladies get bad morning sickness? I haven't had but a couple of waves of nausea yet. I'm going to start taking a B complex vitamin to hopefully ward it off a bit. I get so miserable, and I just stuff myself with carbs trying to keep the nausea at bay, and all I want to do it lie on the couch. Between lying around, the carbs, and the water weight, I usually put on about 10 lbs in the first trimester. With my first 2 pregnancies I gained 45-50 lbs, but with my daughter I gained 70 lbs! Very hard on my body and I'd really like to avoid that again. I hope this is an easy pregnancy! I've been exercising, doing yoga, aerobics, dieting, and finally lost the last 20 lbs of baby weight last year. I'd like to continue to be active my entire pregnancy, watch my diet, and monitor my weight gain better this time around. Do you have any goals for your pregnancy?

My main goal is to have a healthy pregnancy and not gain the 65lbs I gained with my last. I want to stay active and am considering the brewers diet.

Am I the only one scared to death of a chemical pregnancy or miscarriage? I just can't get the thought of it out of my mind greensad.gif

Serenyd/Danielle I hardly ever meet anyone else called Danielle, it's not very common here in nz. Good strong name I think though smile.gif
Hmmm not sure where I got 16weeks from, I think I saw a set of pregnancy photos week by week ones and the lady had written next to the 16wk one that baby was a girl. Not the norm though. I was worried I'd be getting left behind in finding out. Hehe can you tell I'm a little impatient to know.
Will you all find out the gender of your baby/babies? I plan to find out, we didn't with our first and did with our second.
So far only a couple of tiny bits of nausea, other than the extreme tiredness I feel almost normal. I don't tend to get morning sickness though, had a bit of nausea with ds2 but nothing laying on the couch didn't fix.
Goals for this pregnancy - just to get active, I dog sit a dog a few days a week so if I can continue walking him I'll be really happy, the heat here makes it a wee bit hard but it's a mindset and I plan to power through it.
And this is probably our last baby so I hope to not gain too much weight.

Meagan your not the only one, and its perfectly natural to be concerned. I'm having an ultrasound at 11wks and that day can't come soon enough. I am trying to stay positive and keep busy with getting organised early. I have made a small list of things I'd like to get this baby. A list of things to knit. And a list of changes we need to make around the house before this little button arrives.

Hi everyone!  It's 1am and I can't sleep!  Pregnancy insomnia is rearing its ugly head in an awful way right now...it has been over 4 nights since I've gotten over 3 hours of sleep.  It's crazy.  Nice to meet you and here's to sticky noodles, beans and buttons!

1. Preferred name: Jen or Soleilmma

2. EDD (estimated due date): Oct 7th

3. How long TTC (trying to conceive): 7 months

4. Part of the country you live in: The arctic, Minneapolis MN

5. How many kids you have: One VERY "spirited" and wonderfully hilarious 7 year old dd.

6. Profession: Registered Nurse, Birth Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor and aspiring Certified Nurse Midwife!

7. Hoping for a boy or girl (or don't care either way) and why:  I kind of want another girl because I know nothing else and my daughter would just flip to have a baby sister, BUT I think  my husband (my dd's stepdad) is secretly hoping for a boy.  In the end, I'm just so excited to have another little bean growing inside of me after all of these years.

Welcome Tonja wishing you a fantastically uneventful pregnancy! Sorry to here about your illness and previous losses.

Well I fell asleep putting my son to bed, and have woken up two hours later refreshed and rearing to go. I am quietly looking at rental houses, our house can hold us all but we won't fit perfectly and it's going to take a lot of work to get the house working for us with a new baby. Rental prices are sky high at the moment though with the year beginning and many students looking for homes for university.

welcome Jen great to have you here with us! How exciting your having another little bean! We are due date buddies! :-) hard to know when this little button will arrive #1 was born at 40+3 and #2 at 39+3 when he/she is ready I guess as long as its not 10/3 as that's my mother in laws birthday.
Sorry to hear you already have pregnancy insomnia did you have it with your daughter?

Danielle - I do find plan on finding out the gender ahead of time. It helps me prepare, mentally and physically, and let's face it there are plenty of other variables involved, I don't need anymore surprises. If I could POAS and find out the gender right now I would! That would be awesome.

Hehe me too! It's 1am here and I'm awake stupidly fell asleep for two hours from 7pm til 9pm and now I can't sleep!
It's also practical this time around, we have lots of gender neutral baby things but after around three months up its all boys stuff. So if this button is a girl I'd like to prepare for that.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I lots of little girl stuff but no baby boy stuff.

My daughter woke me up at 2 am. Now she is back asleep and I'm up! Oh well, I got cookies baked for preschool co-op today and I'm on my way to yoga! Have a great day!

Speaking of kids waking you up.  Mine kept me up all night with a barking cough :(  I don't know if it's just getting used to the new climate (coming from Hawaii back to Texas) or if it's something else.  My poor girl.  Luckily my grandma is the world's best at taking care of us when we're sick and she is who watches my daughter while I student teach.  Before we even woke up this morning my grandma had a little bed made on the couch and cartoons on and then I went to wal-mart and got some peppermint tea for her.  We have t-ball sign-ups tomorrow so hopefully she kicks this soon.

I also might have picked up more pregnancy tests at wal-mart redface.gif I can't help it, I'm paranoid lol. I was doing okay because I was still seeing the word pregnant on the digi from 4 days ago, but this morning it had gone away lol.
