ladyelms My SIL's and MIL have used the Shettles method with great success. It really works! Best wishes to you with your next cycle.

Well, I think I ruined it for myself for this month. Just some background, DH and I were not TTC and DH did even act like he wanted to consider having #3. Well I have ALWAYS dreamed of having 3 kids...ALWAYS, so I was secretly hoping it would just happen (like it seems to for so many others). In early Jan, I really thought I was pregnant but of course BFN. I was so disappointed and talked to DH about it. He told me that he was not opposed to having another baby but just thought we should wait until this summer. We have a lot going on in our lives right now and DH just got a big promotion at work which has him a little on edge. I am also a teacher and thought, that would be good timing for a maternity leave. Anyway, seeing all these BFPs here lately got the best of me and I told him I wanted to start TTC this month. He was like no, we decided to wait a little while. He started even saying we were just going to discuss TTC this summer! Needless to say I was heartbroken and very upset. What I was hearing was NO...NEVER...we are done, which is not at all what he said. However I am afraid I have completly scared him off from it. Anyway, just needed to get that off my chest. What better place to vent than with you lovely ladies who truly understand.

Sparkle- not trying to be nosey but I would love some pointers to use with my DH when we have the discussion again in a few months. I need a better outcome than I had this weekend!

You're a pro!

ladyelms: Blah, sorry AF found you this cycle. fingersx.gif for success next time around!

Livnkades: hug.gif The "How many?" conversation(s) can be so frustrating. It seems like even when couples think they agree even before they start building their family they often end up making a pitstop in Disagreement Land. I know DH and I have vacationed there before and yeeeeeaaaaaah, not so fun. Hope you guys come to a decision you're both happy with!

kathymuggle: Where's that pic woman?! I needs more BFP confirmssssss hopmad.gif lol

LOL.

I did POAS again - and it looked negative.  It is a bit of a bummer, even though a pregnancy would have been an oops.

Still no period.

I was smart and bought the two pack this time, so I am going to test again in 2 days if no AF.

Yes, I just don't think most men get the "fever" like us women. My poor DH loves our 2 children deeply and I think he is content with just 2. I have just always wanted 3 kids. I was an only child so maybe that is why. DH is the baby of three. He just doesn't see things the way I do. My fingers are crossed that in a few months, when things slow down for us, he will be more open minded!

Hi all welcome to all the newbies this month! And congrats to all the BFPs! I think I am out because I am super crabby and having mild cramping at 10 DPO which generally signals AF on the way. I'm not too distraught because I REALLY want a November baby now because Katie (I think!) brought to my attention that would get me out of working the holidays at work hehehe! Sneaky and happy. I'm still having major pregnancy symptoms like a horrible taste in my mouth and super fatigued.

I probably won't be around much because I might be traveling since my grandfather is not doing so well I hope you all have a good evening smile.gif

Jjh, your not out yet!

Mamablue and mamacat, your excitement is not making it easy for me to hold out on testing! By, i did get a lot of bfn last month because my period was two weeks late, so that is motivation not to test greensad.gif my heart was broken way to many times last month.

Lady elms, we tried shettles! We shall see....smile.gif

Aww livn I know that's tuff greensad.gif but maybe if you guys just don't talk aout it for a while he will be more up for the idea? I sometimes talk my DH out of things just by talking too much. He prefers that things just happen when they happen, and if I try to intervene he gets all weird, lol.

Wow, I missed a lot today!  Congratulations, Slammerkin!

Blonhrt, you caught me.  I did indeed POAnotherS when I got home, and got another BFN.  Oh well.  Mamacat, have you been strong and resisted the temptation to POAS?

I did decide to start charting to maybe channel my obsessing in a more healthy direction.  Problem is that I usually get up to pee around 4/5/6 in the AM before I actually wake up at 7:30.  Today, just to see the difference, I temped at both times and there was a .4 degree difference between the two (98.1 at 6AM and 98.6 at 7:30AM)!  I suppose I should just do it whenever I get up to pee, but I can't really do it in bed without waking up DH (because of the thermometer's beeping), and then haven't I "ruined it" if I get up to walk to the bathroom?  Have any of you dealt with this problem?

Sending happy thoughts to everyone waiting!

blonhrt88, have you been using shettles every cycle? i figure i might as well get comfortable and settle in for the long haul 'cause this girl business may take a while. :-)

Not every. Only because we didn't have a chance to on the 4 day before O, and we needed to do it before we missed the window! A girl would be awesome since I already have a boy, but I'm I would love a baby either way! It's just taking so freaking long! Lol. Part of it is our busy schedule with DS who's 21 months, so I'm still relaxed about it. I figure if he's keeping me too busy to baby dance I don't need another baby anyway! But this month he was very understanding! Going to bed early, sleeping through the night, hahaha. I'm taking it as he's ready, lol.

Keep us posted kathymuggle!

Livnkades: No, they don't get it like we do. According to my DH the way we get about wanting babies is the way they get about DTD lol.gif . We figure hey, it all matches up and works out for the good of humanity then! But like Blonhrt was saying about her DH, I also think guys get freaked out when we talk to much about this kind of thing shrug.gif . I don't get it really but alrighty then eyesroll.gif lol. I know they eyeroll our crazy too so orngtongue.gif .

Blonhrt: Ooh, two weeks late and then AF showed? Omg, I would have not taken that so well privateeyes.gif . I totally understand you not wanting to test! We can be skeered together then hide.gif . I lol.gif at your DS being so understanding, haha.

Damn those BFN's! I'm sorry Larski hug.gif . Yeah, I'm still holding out. I kept thinking I was 8 DPO all day then looked at my chart again and I'm 9. I think I'm terrified to test so I'm increasing my TWW! nut.gif As for temping, in that situation I'd probably take it before I got up to pee. Here's a link to a temp adjustor you might find handy. Also, what kind of thermometer do you have? Maybe there's a little hole you can cover up to muffle the beeping? What about doing it under your pillow or the covers? Are your blankets thick enough to quiet the sound? Vaginal temping might also be a good choice, although you'll get higher temps so you don't want to switch in the middle of a cycle probably since this might cause your interpretations to be off.

Me, I've been wiped out the last few days, passing out super early. Today, up at 4:40 this morning and wide awake confused.gif . Uh, ok then!

Mamacat, me too! I'm about to hit the sack for tonight! Last night I left DS and DH alone watching the Super Bowl, and DS usually nurses to sleep but last night he was left to a cup of almond milk and a book with dada, hahaha.

Oh my geez, I am craving eggs bacon and hash browns so bad. And that is super weird for me. I limit our (mine and DS) gluten and sugar, we eat a lot of raw and healthy foods, and I don't ever eat greasy things! I am holding out big time to test. I need some hand cuffs or seem thing to restrain me..,

Someone should fill me in on this shettles business bc I want to try for a girl! DH has a strong line of boy genes in his family sooo... smile.gif I'm hoping we don't miss our chance next month cycle if this one isn't our chance because my grandpa just passed away so I will be out of town for a bit this month!

I'm anxiously awaiting your test results Blonhrt! (and all of you!!) Good luck!! Hope to see you all in the ddc soon :)

I think you all are right about too much talking scaring DH. I am just gonna lay low about it and not even mention baby again for a while. I did catch him smiling at the sweet little baby that sat in front of us at church yesterday morning. That has to be a positive sign! 😉
post #99 of 654
Oh yeah Livnkades, that's definitely a positive IME thumb.gif .

Hi, I'm a newbie here and this is my first post! I'm still learning all the lingo and what all the abbreviations stand for. So if I get something wrong I'm sorry! Haha smile.gif

This is our 4th cycle ttc. My last 3 cycles have been exactly 29 days so if that trend continues AF is due in 2 days. Today I started getting AF type cramps, so I'm worried I'm out. The only symptom I've had is some slight nausea today, but it's barely noticeable. I guess I don't have long to wait to find out! I tested early last month & was disappointed so I'm trying to wait another 2 days.

Congrats to all the lucky ladies that have received BFP's!!
