Let's talk baby names!

Anyone have names picked out already? Looking for baby names is a hobby of mine. I keep a running list on babynames.com.

If it's a boy we're going with Cole Dexter and if a girl it's going to be Coraline Julia.

We have a name picked out for a boy but are keeping mum about it.  Mainly because when we decided on our daughters name all of a sudden there were 10 other people naming their kid that irked.gif.  We haven't picked out a girl name yet though but are tossing around a few ideas.

I have already read through the entire baby name book I have, and everything I have mentioned to dh he has nix'd which is sad.

For a boy I love:

Marc

Guy

Pierce

grey (as middle name)

cohen

connor

heath

rhys/Reece

girls are a little trickier as I've not thought about them as mmi him in love with Ivy though.

dh has always loved Grace.

Coraline...oh that's wonderful, don't hear that one very much.  I also love Ivy and Emma.  Beautiful names.

I have a couple of names but the ones that have really stuck are from a dream I had about a year ago.  I dreamt my husband and I had a baby boy and we named him Lux.  Lux means "unit of illumination" which I think is beautiful.  Funny thing is, before the dream I didn't even know I knew the word Lux and I definitely didn't know it had such a wonderful meaning.  The subconcious is an amazing thing.

I like Lux! I try to stick with C and K names because I like them, our family name starts with C, and limiting myself makes it easier to pick a name!

I'm thinking Nicholas or Oscar; Aurelia or Fiona.
Thinking my mother's first name for a middle name and her mother's for a second middle name. I have no thoughts on middle name for a boy.

For a girl: Hazel Hermoine

For a boy: Most likely Ezra for a first name (though not sure)...looking for middle names, but Elijah is what we like best so far

OK everyone, feel sorry for my dilemma... DH is a mad Kiss fan, so he chosen...

Boy: Ace (after Ace Frehley from Kiss)

Girl: Beth (after a Kiss song about a guy who won't go home to Beth coz he's at band practice)

.

.. lucky we have months to sort this one out, so I'm just laying low until it's closer.. it might grow on me :) LOL

Suzie, lol.. I actually think Ace is kinda cute!

We know a baby named Ace Thunder...

Thinking about Orion for a middle name, now... Totes wish I could convince my partner to let me name a boy Darwin, but he dislikes the name.

Ace thunder sounds like a superhero hehe smile.gif

Other names I like that DP has poo-poohed: Osiris, Orpheus...Phoenix was a meh for him. Thinking a lot about dying-and-resurrecting gods for inspiration...any good name ideas?

Ace thunder I think it's kinda cool, definitely a super hero name.
Well I came home the other day to find dh adding baby names to my name list on nymbler. He added Katherine, we'd probably call her Kate or Katie. Dh was so happy with it that he wanted to shake on it then and there. Which was amusing. So at this very early stage Katherine is our girls name.
Katherine Grace ......

All my husband wants is to give the child (whether it be boy or girl) the middle name Master....his last name is Splinter.  I said ok as long as we get to go ahead and name it Winter.  Winter Master Splinter...kinda has a nice ring.  thumb.gif

Why Master?

Shiloh: My guess is its a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reference.

Lol I get it now.
How cute!

Revolting: it's the middle of the night and I don't have my contacts in... I thought you said your baby name was "Onion"... LOL that just cracked me up for a minute... Orion is MUCH better - that's a really cool name!

Soleil: LOVE the TMNT thing - my son wants to change his name when he's 18 so his middle and surname are swapped - then he'd be Ben T. Rex  (roar)

Danielle: your dh must be related to mine... he holds the baby name list in his wallet though.. but after he thought of Beth Grace he wrote it at the top of the list, and shook my hand!  Decision made apparently!  haha

I'm big on 3 letter names.. my 14 year old is Ben Rex. A direct result of my croatian roots, my full name barely fitted on forms before I got married!

Yes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle reference :) and No, it's first name will not be Winter nor will it's middle name be Master....although, we have thought about leaving the middle name omitted and giving the kiddo the opportunity to pick their middle name when they are older, that could be interesting.

An actual real first name I would love is Luca (for a boy or girl) and Ramona (for a girl).

All of your name choices sound wonderful.  Ezra is a gorgeous name and I love the name Ben Rex!
