12 weeks here, too.  Baby heart rate at 145.  :)  Told one of my friends today and she was SO EXCITED for us.  I'm still hesitant to start telling people, but it was fun to have someone share our excitement.

Are you feeling better, Sparkle?

Met with my potential doula today and it was awesome. But I am not sure if I want her enough and there will be enough to do to justify spending almost $700. If I needed her, for sure, but that is a lot of cleaning lady hours that would make my life better.

Leigh, not sure if your coughing/puking are ever caused by each other, but mine are and I sympathize! Yesterday morning I started a big coughing fit that made my stomach keep lurching and before I knew it, I was throwing up swallowed mucus chunks (aaaaack!) and bile. Not my best start to a morning ever, but not that atypical lately, I'm sorry to say.

Banana, how are things going at home?  Have they settled some with the hubs?

Also, You were in my dream last night.  Or at least a lovely woman with a pregnant belly in a banana suit.  So I assume it was supposed to be you? Have you ever worked as a bank teller (while wearing a banana costume?)

LOL! I have never done either!

Things are better. We could not come to some kind of conclusion about it. Everytime we'd start conversing electronically about it, it would end in arguing. There is a disconnect that we can't put together. I think I am expecting too much from him. He has apologized many times over, but I wanted more than that. I wanted him to admit that he acted in the ways I said. Not just admit it, but recognize that it's true, actually believe that he was bad at communication in this type of circumstance. I don't know if he does. And we just can't talk about it while he's gone. Maybe we will when he gets back.

But even if he isn't giving me what would make everything "right" in my mind, he has completely 100% changed his communication efforts with me. He calls everyday, unless I tell him not to. And he's determined about it. He'll email me, or call my phone, or use every possible electronic service that I have to get a hold of me when he wants to try to talk to me. it's like he's trying to make sure I can never accuse him of being bad at long distance communication again XD

Ahhh I've fallen behind again! Started some training for work this week and it's all consuming!

Congrats to the new 12 weekers!

Some were talking about nursing pjs. I actually wore a loose fitting nursing bra with pads in it to bed for awhile until my supply calmed down. Otherwise I was waking up in a puddle of milk and I hated the feeling of laying in it. It was sort of a hassle to nurse DD during the night (we co-sleep) but I was more comfortable overall.

I'm 14 weeks today and was surprised to feel my fundus so high - getting close to my belly button! It seems to be a normal place for it at this point but it surprised me anyway :) Some days I'm feeling a ton of wiggles and some days (like yesterday) I don't. I find it stressful and hope to feel more consistent movement soon!!

Always, The snot makes me cough until I puke. With Bee I had bronchitis and the coughing from that also lead to puking. Otherwise no puking for this one or Bee, but there was for Monkey. I think I liked the plain puking better.

But my better times are getting longer and I have been lasting until dinner time with out needing to go lie down.

This is me, too. Longer periods of not wanting to die during the day, but usually all bets are off by dinner time. (And obviously the cough-puking can come at anytime, but is worst in the morning.) Not sure if anyone else knows what Topo Chico is (sparkling mineral water from Mexico--it's everywhere in Texas), but I have to go lie down with a cold Topo Chico at dinner time and play words with friends while I get my act together. My DH refers to it as my Miller Time. Ha ha.

Also, I'm with you-- I think regular puking is better than cough/mucus-puking. Although...it's less predictable. Which I also hate. Honestly,  I could really pass on all the puking. I wouldn't mind doing that permanently and SOON. Serenity now!!! surrender.gif

Can anyone else feel baby by palpating? My MW seemed surprised when I told her I could. I could a week ago, too, but it's MUCH bigger now! And moves a ton. The firm area is as big as my hand now!

My fundus is also fully up to my navel and getting higher by the day. And, yeah, turns out I have a bunch of risk factors for twins! So I'm going to see my best friend tonight for a free u/s at her school. She doesn't know I'm pg, yet, so this will be a fun surprise!! I'm looking forward to that very much - as well as seeing just what it is I'm feeling! Even my MW says things are leaning more towards two! Exciting and a wee bit frightening. lol.gif I should probably be more scared, especially as my sister has twins!

Eek, how exciting, Heather! Update us when you know anything (preferably with pictures)!

Heather, you are so awesome. I would be FREAKING OUT. How exciting though! Can't wait to hear.

As far as feeling baby, I am totally terrible at that. It wasn't until I could like see my DS's leg moving across my rib cage that I was like "Oh yeah, I think that's where the baby is." When my sister was in triage for her rush transfer c-section, I was in there looking at the ultrasound with the doctors and my sister and I was like "Oh, I see the baby's head," and they were like "Oh, that's your sister's bladder."  Oh, and when we had the 41 week u/s done on my DS, they were like "you know what you're having right?" because his scrotum was basically in HD in our faces and I was like (in all earnestness) "Oh, how can you tell?" My husband and the doctor laughed. shrug.gif Whatever. I am imaginative, but not very accurate in such matters, I'm afraid.  Sigh.

Wow Heather, can't wait for your update!

Heather, that is so exciting!!  I too will be checking in to see your post. thumb.gif

After I posted pics last night, I keep looking at myself in the mirror.  lol  I look huge and I'm not even half way. bigeyes.gif

Oooh, can't wait to hear about the ultrasound, Heather!

Only at 11w4d here, but still can't feel my uterus. Crafty, I was exactly the same last time! I only knew where DS was near the end of pregnancy because he moved so much...

Heather, I'm totally stalking this thread so I can be the first to know. ROTFLMAO.gif
post #78 of 106
So weird. MW went with me and palpated and agreed the fundus was higher than last week. Initial swipe with the US clearly showed two circles and my dear friend doing the scan stopped dead and about fainted!! She got back to it and then said it looked like just one. Sure enough, everything from then looked like one baby. She also said my fundus was much lower. She had my MW feel and she agreed it was lower than it had been! Weird!!! So they are suggesting things are changing due to intestinal movement? headscratch.gif I've felt the same things before and after BMs, so I didn't figure that was the case.

Anyway, a little confused, a little disappointed, but happy to see a healthy baby wiggling all around!

Oh I did see the BH ctxs on screen which was cool!

Thanks for asking, banana! I am doing okay. Still sick, and just trying to manage it and minimize my commitments.

Aw Heather-- so it's conclusive there's only one in there? Glad baby is wiggly and happy though!!

Seems conclusive though I wonder if one could be hiding. lol.gif She spent a loooong time, though, so it's not too likely!
