I prefer them 100 percent over Britax.. they may cost you a bit to invest but way cheaper than a new car.. and you can put a newborn in them :) they sell them on Amazon

Agreed! My 7 year old is harnessed in a Radian and we have 3 across in our Accord. We could easily fit an infant seat in with 2 of them.They are great seats. You can find them for a little cheaper on some sites too when they are abt 6-8 months "old" (thats how we afforded them) but they have an 8yr expiration so you still get a loooong time out of them.

Tips on getting these cheap very much appreciated.  We are probably going to have to buy at least one and possibly two.  We are doing a dreaded three-across also and I'm totally overwhelmed trying to figure it out.

He's just destined to be a small baby, I assume. I have a 3D ultrasound scheduled for Friday, though. So I guess we will see how he is measuring at the end of the week. 

I measure 2.5w "behind" when baby is head down and 1w behind when baby is breech...which goes to show you how many factors are involved in fundal height.  I also, in the week before my babies were born, measured  1w ahead with both the 7lb6oz-er and the 10lb3oz-er....so it doesn't really tell you much honestly.   LOL!

Nothing really set in stone I don't think...I just watched prices all over the internet for about 3 months before we purchased ours and the trend seemed to be that the cheaper ones were the "older" ones, which makes sense.  Oh, and ours were only 65's, so that will make a difference too.  We paid about $145 each when I bought them, which was a really good deal (at the time, which was last summer...I know they've changed some things so I don't know what their new regular pricing is).

These last few weeks have been just crazy! It's finally starting to get "real"--I'm growing a baby and she's coming soon!

I'm self-employed, and so I'm trying to work as hard as I can (and save as much $ as I can) so I can take a week or two off when the babe arrives. Which means super long days on my feet and lots of BH as a consequence. And only drowsily browsing the DDC before I pass out.

Anyway, BF and I went to visit the birthing center today--and I'm feeling just the tiniest bit less panicky about my whole life turning upside down when babe arrives. The center is nice and small, with a private tub room for labor and delivery if I want, and babe and BF will stay with me in the room the whole time! And they'll give us a carseat! The only downside I could find is that the menu is not super vegan-friendly :(

Also this week--we're on a super-tight (as in, I have $200 for everything) budget for baby stuff, but I found a Moby at the Salvation Army for $10! And BF's sister sent a care package including 10 bumgenius 4.0s, which means our diaper stash is now complete (for the next two years!).

I'm thinking to get all three in comfortably, we're going to have to get at least 2. Which, if I can get them for ~150 each, would be 100 more than I budgeted for just one, but not terrible, I don't guess. Maybe we could get away with just getting one, and it would fit with the other two seats. Right now, DS is in Graco Nautilus and DD is in a backless booster.

I'll have to look a bit more. I found some for 199, but if I could find them cheaper, I might get two.

We have a small sedan(Mitsubishi Lancer), I had to buy the pricy seats or things would just not fit in there right. I got the oldest two Radians and Calliope a Combi Coccoro, it's a really good fit for our tiny backseat. I guess I didn't have to spring for the Coccoro since an infant seat would've fit as well, but it's a convertible and will hopefully hold her a bit longer.

Recently I have been eating more sweets and I notice this is so that I can get through the day at work. A little sugar to pick me up I guess. Any advice on how not to eat chocolate everyday for the next 8 weeks?

Alaskanmomma, my DH drives an '09 Lancer and I have already started to worry about what we will do with his vehicle when we have multiple children because the back seat is so small. I plan to have them pretty close together.... And I'm not sure when I want to stop! Ha. 

One of my close friends had her baby last night and I am SO anxious to get my baby here that I absolutely can't stand it!!!! It's killing me!

So since I missed most of one day of my doula training over the weekend due to going to the ER with contractions, I now have to make that day up before I can start doing births that go towards my certification. The next doula training is in April the weekend I'm due. Then not another one until July. So I guess if I'm not in labor or didn't just have the baby I'll be going to that training very pregnant. I wanted to try to get certified pretty quickly. I can still attend births but they wouldn't count. So now I'm hoping baby either comes a couple weeks early (as they said I could bring the baby) or a couple days late. Even then I'm kind of disappointed because I won't be able to attend too many births with a NB anyways, so my certification will not happen quickly.

I too had an appt. yesterday. It was a follow up to my L&D visit on Sat with the contractions. I've been on antibiotics since Sat for an infection...but it turns out I did not have a bladder or kidney infection like I or my midwife thought. I did have BV so she thinks thats what was causing my ctx and horrible back aches. Ah well...I feel 100% better anyways and it feels so nice not to have that horrible back ache.

Um, just buy a bag of really small chocolates?  Sorry, I got nothing, I love chocolate.  Although I can sometimes stave off sugar cravings by upping my fat and protein intake.

As long as you can fit car seats, you can have at least 3 hahaha!

When do you hit 37 weeks? I know it's more than likely as a first time mom you'll go later than that, but I find it feels sooner if I tell people I have between 7 and 10 weeks before baby instead of just 10 weeks lol.

I just scheduled my next midwife appointment today and it's in 3 weeks, which is March 7th.  March 7th!  March is a month I could conceivably have my baby in.  That is INSANE!

I was realizing that other day that I'll hit 37 weeks in just a little over 5 weeks and it really sunk in. I could go anytime in the later half of March but I am just going to keep telling myself it'll be mid April. I'll go crazy otherwise!

Try to pick healthier sugars, if possible, like fruit. But don't feel too bad about snacking on sugar. The brain needs sugar to function properly. It can't utilize stored energy the same way other body systems can. And research suggests that a little bit of sugar will improve your ability to focus on a task when battling mental fatigue.

So, my quest for the "perfect" diaper bag continues. I finally got the charge back processed with my credit card company for the used bag I got on ebay (that was missing the messenger strap). I ordered the same one, in a different color from Amazon. But when it arrived today, I realized the colors weren't quite right. DH asked if they would grow on me, but I don't think so. Fortunately he understands how important it is to me to have a bag I love and is putting up with my crazy on this issue. Anyhow, I've got a refund from Amazon and will ship it back, unless I can sell it locally. I'd prefer that because then I don't have to pay return shipping. I can just call Amazon and tell them to cancel the refund.

Anyhow...I'm going to try one more print, and hopefully I'll be done with this whole quest.

I have a hemorrhoid that hurts so bad all I can do to not feel pain is lay on my stomach(which at 30 and a half weeks pregnant isn't very comfy either), UGH!!!! This has happened with my other kids pregnancies this far along as well, ohh the glamour of pregnancy.

I have no idea why I even am THINKING I'll go anytime before my DD(wishful thinking?) since baby #2 was nearly 43 weeks lol. I do like saying though, April 1st, can be safe baby time :D

Everyone deserves something "for them", whether it's a diaper bag they really like, a cute pair of shoes, whatever! I totally get your quest for the perfect bag :)

Yes!  You just made me realize I'll be 37w in 4w + 2d.  Um, what?!  I am more preoccupied by having to write TWO papers before then, yikes.  But still.  I don't know how this happened!  

I convinced myself with both my other children that I would go late.  For my 11/20 due date I convinced myself she'd come on 12/2.  For my 5/3 due date I focused in on 5/5.  But after two early babies (went into labor at 38w4d and 39w4d respectively) it is really hard to focus myself on a late date this time.  I feel more eager to meet the baby this time too.  Which I assume means s/he will be late, lol!!   I mean, it's totally possible I could not have a baby until mid-April, but it's hard to wrap my brain around that -- and I full know as a midwifery student who has watched many other women go through this, that is dangerous!  It can be such a mind$@&^ to think you'll go early and then go late!
