That sounds awful.  Are you doing anything for it?   I mean, realistically it's not gonna go away til baby is out but you might be able to get some relief with Avenoc (it's a homeopathic cream or suppository) or witch hazel.  Also, try to keep it "in" as much as possible: keeping pressure on it should help somewhat.

I had one with DS and I remember whining to my midwife about how it wouldn't go away no matter what I did (but luckily it wasn't very painful or itchy, just annoyed me as a concept) and she was like, "Robina, you're pregnant.  It's probably not going to go away until you're not pregnant anymore."  LOL.  Knock wood, so far I have been spared this pregnancy.

So, my quest for the "perfect" diaper bag continues. I finally got the charge back processed with my credit card company for the used bag I got on ebay (that was missing the messenger strap). I ordered the same one, in a different color from Amazon. But when it arrived today, I realized the colors weren't quite right. DH asked if they would grow on me, but I don't think so. Fortunately he understands how important it is to me to have a bag I love and is putting up with my crazy on this issue. Anyhow, I've got a refund from Amazon and will ship it back, unless I can sell it locally. I'd prefer that because then I don't have to pay return shipping. I can just call Amazon and tell them to cancel the refund.

Anyhow...I'm going to try one more print, and hopefully I'll be done with this whole quest.

Oh, man, IronMam! I hope you find something that you love! I haven't even thought about a diaper bag, but I was kind of just toying with the idea of using a back pack. redface.gif

Oh my goodness, ladies! I *think* I may have found a car seat set up where I don't have to buy a car seat at all! (At least for now.) If the spare car seat we have is what I think it is, and the booster seat DD uses will work in place of the one mentioned, all I'll need is to clean out my car redface.gif and get them in!

So...as far as my u/s last week goes...

Looking at my report, (and I know u/s measurements have a couple weeks either direction for accuracy, but they've always been really close for me...) baby is measuring about a week ahead...HEAD is measuring about 2-3 weeks ahead.  I'm totally thinking boy. Not that we couldn't have a girl with a larger head, just that the girls both had pretty small heads compared to DS's (we're talking 13" compared to 15.5").  So...I just hope to have a slightly simpler birth this time...DS's wasn't bad at all...sure it was long, and 6 hours at 10cm- after only 3 hours to get there- made me feel hopeless because I couldn't figure out why it was taking so long (though head circ. measurements after birth were pretty self explanatory! LOL).  But I just kinda hoped it would be a little smoother this time, and maybe it will.  But I'm still praying that maybe I can go a little early this time and start on my own (sans castor oil!).

I'm trying Gentle Birth Formula by MMH this time...no idea if it will change anything for me, but I am SOOOOOO ready by the time I actually start (like a Bishop score through the roof) so I can only hope it might jump start things.  We'll see.

Thanks. I decided to try out a different model by the same company, after practice packing the other model I have from ebay (need to try to sell that one too). The new one is called the Better Be. It's about an inch by an inch smaller, but I think the way it's organized will work better for me, plus it's about $45 cheaper. Plus I think the slightly smaller size will be helpful in forcing me to stick to my simplifying aspirations. I tend to fill the space I have, so bigger bags often mean heavier loads and more stuff than I actually need.

DD hit her height and weight requirements for the booster. She was SO excited. I'm happy because not only is it way more convenient to have her in the booster (she can even unbuckle herself), but her carseat wasn't fitting safely anymore. The straps were not lined up properly with her shoulders.

OMG. I just got an email this morning from the website from which I ordered the new diaper bag, telling me, "oh, sorry, we actually won't ship that brand to Canada." Gah! Then don't let me check out with it in my cart!

I am so freakin frustrated. Every time I think I have this whole thing done, something goes wrong.

How insanely frustrating! You would think they wouldn't let you check out, but I've had places let me check out when something in my cart was out of stock and got similar e-mail. irked.gif

Me too, though I already have an ergo and a baby k'tan! I guess I will do some selling at some point.

I ordered it again from a Canadian website. It was slightly more expensive ($5 more, plus taxes), but came with a free coin purse. So, I guess whatever...

I'm just so tired of this by now that if I have any more trouble I may just give up and go buy something from Babies R Us. lol

This is what I ended up getting btw:

AlaskanMomma: I've been extra regular this whole pregnancy! It's been wonderful! I was super constipated with DD, so I feel happy every time I poop lol. I have had one hemorrhoid that comes and goes and am using Motherlove's Rhoid balm. It's awesome stuff!

I hope you've all had a lovely Valentine's day! I feel loved. DH brought me some beautiful roses. They smell SO wonderful!!! We were hanging out this morning and he was touching my belly and found what we thought was a knee. He was poking and tickling it and it developed into a game that him and baby played for about half an hour! He would poke, and baby would poke back. It was so sweet sitting there watching their bond grow. DD also felt baby move for the first time the other night. She FINALLY had enough patience to wait more than .5 seconds and when she felt it, she squealed!

DH had a dream the other day (he works 3rd shift) that he was talking to our son and called him "Zach" so we are strongly considering Zachary for our son's name! It would be extra special, because DH dreamed about it. Middle name might be Albert, since "L.B." has been his nickname the whole pregnancy and Albert is my father's middle name. It's funny, because we thought of the middle name this morning, then my mom called later to tell me my dad was being admitted to the hospital. His platelet count and iron are extremely low. He's been dealing with this for some time, but he was given 2 units of hemoglobin one week ago and his counts are much lower than they were before then. He has taken multiple hardcore psychiatric drugs since I was very young and has "portal hypertension" so it's caused extra veins to grow in his esophagus and stomach lining, which are close to the surface so every time he eats, drinks, or swallows pills (which he does MANY a day) it scratches the veins and causes him to bleed, but now they think he's bleeding elsewhere. Possibly his intestines. He's ok so far. He's having a CT scan so hopefully that'll show where the bleeding is. I'm selfishly hoping that we will not have to drop everything to travel there this week. DD has off school next week and I have some serious nesting plans. I also don't want to be exposed to all the crap at the veterans hospital! It sound selfish, but I want to stay healthy for the rest of my pregnancy. Here's hoping for the best!

We had our second fun ultrasound (no medical ones this pregnancy). Baby girl is frank breech :(  I'm wondering how a butt down there can hurt so bad! Hopefully she will turn. I'm thinking I might need to start swimming daily!  The tech mentioned that she'd never seen a baby's bladder so full. Any idea if this is a problem? She didn't seem to think so but then again she owns a FUN ultrasound place.

dh did good for Valentines day. I usually plan it so I don't have to feel bad about us not doing anything and I've figured out that it is way more romantic to go out when it NOT crowded or a peak day so we did that last week.  While we were out, I mentioned that he used to fix some really nice Valentines Day dinners before we were married.  So tonight he brought home one of those dinners to cook and made virgin margaritas.

Thank you!  I have been eying that price.  Noticed that some of the colors have sold out, so finally "bit the bullet" and ordered one.  Hoping we can get away with just one for now, but we shall see.  My secondary hope is that they don't sell out before I decide whether I need a second.  :)

So I just put the Daily Plate app on my phone (I *just* entered the smartphone world...not necessarily my first choice, but hey...they get you stuck these days!), so I'm going to start tracking calories.  Not trying to lose weight obviously (yet!) but this is a baaaaad time of year for me (Easter candy is my weakness of all weaknesses!!!!  Cadbury will be the death of me...).  I have used their program off and on for years so I figure it will be good for me to pay closer attention to what I'm consuming.

Plus, with my ultrasound report that I talked about in my last post, I don't want to contribute to any *unnecessary* weight/size on baby with it already looking like another big one!!!

That's so cool! We didn't plan our "special" Valentine's Day stuff yet, because my mom and dad were doing their thing today (and I thought DF was going to have to work, but turns out he took the day off, so we got to spend the day together kind of, anyway.) We took the kids to Chinese restaurant for dinner, then to look at bikes. I promised them new bikes this year, so since it's starting to think about warming up, I thought now as good a time as ever.

I'm kind of disappointed about how Valentine's Day went, because DF and DD were bickering about half the time between the time she got home from school and the time we went to dinner, and when we got home, we sent the kids to bed, I ended up falling asleep because DS only slept 2 hours last night, so that meant I didn't sleep, either and was exhausted all day. DF and I were going to watch a movie or something, but we didn't get to. Which is how it goes almost every weekend, we plan to do something, spend some time together, and then don't get to. greensad.gif

I realized that if we get three, it will be less than $500 for three, so I told DF that since we have the money, and they'll last so long, we should go ahead and get them. He said no, not if we don't have to. I told him that buying the cheaper seats now will just mean that we have to spend another considerable amount of money later on to get ones that will fit them. We still have a little time, and the print(s) in the seats that will work aren't available right now, so hopefully I can convince him to go with the radians, which will ultimately cost us less money overall, even though it will cost a bit more initially.

I understand.  I have been grain-free (or low carb/high protein/high fat) for a good portion of this pregnancy mostly because I don't want to contribute any "unnecessary" weight onto this baby since my son was also huge.  (But also for other reasons too and I must admit I do feel really good eating this way.  I tend toward the hypoglycemic and this style of eating really minimizes my "hangry" moments, which is fascinating.) As I moved into this way of eating though I tracked my calories a few times and was shocked to learn I was not getting enough!  Curbing carbs and sugars really decreases your caloric intake like WHOA, apparently.

I don't know anything about this baby's measurements though except that at our 22w scan to check on placental position everything except leg length was measuring just slightly smaller than average (but not by much).  I think that's hilarious because my husband is 6'5" and has endless legs (we are both pretty limby, and so are our kids, but his are insane) so I told him that scan was his paternity test LOL.

I will cross my fingers (for both of us) that the Radians stay at that price for a good while longer!  There is some question of how they will puzzle RF/FF next to each other in my car so I want to see how one fits, and if it fits with what we have, before investing in another.

In the middle of the night last night, I woke up saying "Ouch, ouch, ouch!" I wanted to roll over and I couldn't move - due to pain and fear of causing myself more pain. My stomach area was in a Charlie Horse - I could feel my abs under my breasts just bunched up. It hurt horrible. greensad.gif I've had Braxon Hicks before this pregnancy but it was more "Oh look, my stomach is a tight, cute little ball", then it'd relax and I'd be fine. Twice I woke up in the middle of the night in pain but I think baby was changing positions (stomach was funky shapes that were changing).

I had such easy births the first 2 times, now I'm worried this one won't be so easy. I didn't have these pains before. Oye.

I have friends who get AMAZING results with cutting carbs out almost completely.  I never did get as lucky as them, though I tried hard. LOL  I definitely watch my intake, as well as my simple sugars overall (though I stink at it some days), and I like to eat by the GI diet when possible.  But I also feel really good and best when I get fresh whole grains (we mill ourselves) in my diet.  So it's an interesting situation...we were GF for a while but now are just "partial" GF (lol) because I felt worse GF than I did with my whole grains added in.  I still don't eat a ton, though...which is why I'm thinking boy, because both sides of this baby's families make BIG boys (and smaller or average girls), but the head size is courtesy of DH's family.  It's funny actually, 30.5 years ago when he was about to be born, MIL drove back home from OR to Albuquerque (alone with 5 other kids in the car since FIL couldn't go LOL) because they were offering epidurals down there.  They had to suction DH and his head was so big that they kept dragging her to the end of the bed and having to prop her back up and try again, I think it too 3 times.  EEK!  So thankful I don't opt for the epi or a hospital birth, or heck, just laboring on my back.  I definitely didn't DS's head size while he was coming out and he came out so quickly and easily once we got to that point, but dang, it's significantly bigger than his sisters.  Fits him, though. ;)

Our VD didn't go so smooth.  DH and I fought a little and the kids would not cooperate with bedtime. I know its because I'm tired a lot and super stressed and DH and I have barely had time to talk let alone anything else. My sister is having a party tonight we wanted to go to but couldn't find a babysitter. So we're taking the kids to the mall for dinner tonight & train rides just to get out of the house and do something fun.  Next weekend should be better as we're getting away for the weekend for my cousin's wedding. First night we'll spend with the boys at the hotel swimming & having fun. Next night my MIL is watching them for the reception so we'll have a night away. Sooooo looking forward to that!
