I hope everyone is doing well.. today is 33 weeks for me!!!!!

Oh, wow, cananny! Glad they caught that! I can't believe you are so cloes to having your babies! I've been thinking/praying for you a lot lately, with the date being so near. I hope your vitals stay good, and the babies stay healthy until it's time (9 days!!)

AFM, DF and I went out last evening and had a pretty nice time, I think. We went and ordered our bed (Yay! A bona fide bed!), and they are going to deliver it on Tuesday, then went to a buffet for dinner, which wasn't great, but wasn't bad, either. Then we went and watched Hansel and Gretal: Witch Hunters. When I first saw it advertised, I didn't think DF would like it that much, but when he was looking up theathers and what was playing yesterday morning, he mentioned it, and I was excited, because I thought it looked good. It was really good, and almost all of the previews they showed looked pretty good, too. Now, we just wish there was enough time to watch them all before the baby gets here. orngtongue.gif

Today, the kids and I went to church, then came home to pick DF up to go get his hair cut. When DD saw him afterwards, she said, "I can't wait for daddy's hair to grow back." which was kind of funny. We dropped DF off afterwards, and the kids and I went back out to get some camping stuff and a few other things we forgot, and to give DF some time to rest before work tonight. DD started complaining that her stomach hurt, so I decided to start heading back home, even though it was earlier than I had expected. About halfway home, she started getting sick, and all the way home, it was, "Mama, I don't feel good." between getting sick, so I called DF to have him run her a bath so it would be ready. She tried to drink some Sprite later on, and it didn't settle at all. She's been dry heaving (sorry), all night, but no fever, and not actually getting sick, so I'm just letting her sleep and hoping it something she ate or something, but I told her if she's still having problems in the morning, we might have to call the doctor. I hate seeing her so sick, it seems like her immune system is so much weaker than DF, mine, or even DS'. But thankfully, they don't have school tomorrow, so as long as she doesn't get sick tomorrow (and no fever or anything like that), she won't have to miss school.

Oh cananny! You're babies are going to be here so soon!! I'm glad everything's looking good right now and that they're able to stay put for a while still. Hopefully you're not too uncomfortable while you're there. Hang in there!

I was unable to sleep and the waves were still coming off and on and started to creep around into my right hip as well. Not intense or anything, but noticeable.

I called my L&D RN SIL but she works graveyard so she didn't answer since she's probably asleep. I then sent her a text and am waiting to hear back. After laying on my left side for an hour I finally got up and went and stood in the shower until the hot water nearly ran out. Then I had a bowel movement (3rd today!) hoping that would get rid of it... Only it's still happening. Not as often or as noticeable, but they are still there.

Should I just give it more time? Calling the On-Call OB is always a joke at my office. I'd have better luck calling my OB at his home since he's a family friend, but I'd hate to do that if it's not necessary. I'm 32w1d. No discharge or anything and I'm not noticing any tightening of my abdomen either. Just the random crampiness.

How are you feeling? Still cramping?

I am having cramping like all the time but nothing constant, consistent, or time able.  I did have some light bleeding yesterday but it went away so I didn't worry. I'm hoping since I'm 30 weeks now its due to a growth spurt?

I am having major wedding drama with my sister's wedding going on right now. Its not even until September but the drama is all starting so soon.  3 of the bridesmaids, including myself and my sister, are pregnant. So I think we're all bringing our pregnancy hormones into the mix too. Now my older sister (who can get a bit crazy emotional even when not pregnant) wants to hold a small family meeting to get things off her chest - which equals fighting and grudges and more drama. I'm so not a drama person...

I am very much looking forward to my cousin's wedding this weekend. I got a maternity dress at Target on clearance for only $8!! to wear to the wedding. I feel like a fat pregnant Marilyn Monroe in it LOL, as its pink and kind of off the shoulder, but oh well. For $8 I'm gonna make it work.  I'm not looking forward to wearing a bathing suit in the hotel pool with the kids though, but I can't ruin their fun because of it, so I'll have to suck it up.

Other than that, 3rd trimester heartburn and fatigue have hit me.  Along with the fact that I'm out of breath quite often, I dont' know how I'm gonna make it another 10 weeks.

FTM Question: Do you prefer the Boppy or the Balboa nursing pillow? And would I need both? TIA. Hope everyone is having a good day.

For me, I prefer neither.  I had a boppy for my first 2 kids, and it just didn't lift them up enough for nursing and required an extra layer of pillow.  It was just ok for propping the baby up either to lounge or do tummy time, though they'd often slide down it.  I've read a lot of balboa reviews and saw one in person, it seems it angles down so there's always an issue with the baby rolling down in the crack between you and pillow.  I've also tried the My Breastfriend, but I found it too clunky and cumbersome.

So for what it's worth, I'm trying the JJ Cole nursing pillow.  It seems to take the best features from other pillows.  It holds the baby higher like the Balboa, has sturdy, flat foam like the breastfriend, and it's small so you don't have to be in a big enough chair to accomodate a pillow that wraps around your sides.  It also has a handle so it's easy to grab one handed when you're flipping the baby to other side. We'll see!

If money were no object, I also wanted to try:

Dr. Brown's Gia pillow

Boppy's new pillow that is specifically a nursing pillow, not the traditional boppy

Born Free Bliss pillow

If you want a boppy for just the baby to use, Leachco makes a pillow that has a little harness attachment to keep baby from slipping down and getting smothered.  can be used to nurse too.

it's just a lot of trial and error.. we're all built differently with different preferences. My advice.. either buy used or hang on to your receipts!

Thank you for the input. I have to admit that the "trial and error" aspect of parenthood might be the hardest. And LO isnt even here yet!

Personally, I have not used either. I tried a Boppy once, I think, that was my friend's, and it didn't seem comfortable. I just used regular pillow(s). I guess that wasn't much help, though, sorry.

I had a Boppy with DS1 that I used to prop him up and he slept in it, cuddling it like it was me.  I did not use it for BF though.

With DS2 I bought another Boppy 2nd hand and used one for nursing and one he slept with.

Yes, my kids sleep with their Boppy in the cradle at least or on the couch so they don't roll off.

I have not tried any other kind or brand.

Is anyone feeling more pressure in their ... uterus... for lack of a better description? I felt more "heavy" when walking (from work to the train) this afternoon. Is that normal?

I would definitely say so. I was waddling from minute one this morning.

Good to know. Sometimes I feel like the changes from week to week are gradual and sometimes they are so sudden!

yep me too. I would love to start wearing a maternity support belt, but I already have support hose and a... um.... prenatal jock-strap, for lack of better description, so I just don't know if I have room under my clothes for anything else!  But that would possibly help if the pressure persists.

Oof, I missed a bunch of stuff since I last caught up with you all.

MommyRuth, I am so sorry to hear about your dad.  My thoughts are with you and your family.  hug2.gif

Cananny, glad to hear everything is okay and OMG!  BABY BOYS ARE COMING SOOOON!  I can't believe we'll have our first DDC babies that soon.

Munchkin, I'll be the voice of dissent and say that I loved my boppy both times around (and more so the first when I was getting the hang of nursing).

I'm 33w4d and I felt not much pressure in my first pregnancy at this stage, a TON in my second by now, and NONE this time.  Like, none.  I am convinced this baby is gonna hang around in my uterus forever because s/he just is never going to lean on my cervix enough to ripen it.  LOL.

MommyRuth: I'm sorry to hear your news about your father. I will pray for him and your family.

Munchkin: Count me as another one who didn't have much use for the Boppy. I tried the Breastfriend too, and that was cumbersome. I use regular old pillows now. Also, I think pressure is normal. Wish I was feeling it! But this baby is hanging out in weird positions, so no head even remotely close to where it would cause a feeling of pressure.

AFM: 32w 3d and doing all the crazy baby flipping exercises. Inversions, breech tilts, pelvic tilts. NO FUN. The baby alternates between every position except head-down. On one hand, I guess that means it's not a very "big" baby, so yay for that but... ugh. I went through this with my last baby too, and she did flip by 36 or 37 weeks, so I'm not too worried about it. I just don't like how often this one stays transverse.

On a happier note, my chiropractor did a trigger point release on one of my problem areas (sacroiliac area) and it was AWESOME. It hurt while he was doing it, but the pain I was having went away for a day or two and has remained minimal. It had been getting so bad that every time I stopped moving and started moving again I would have to kind of drag my leg a few inches until it unfroze. He said the muscles were in spasm. I wonder if that could be the problem on the other side... the side I get horrible sciatica on during the night.

Less than 10 weeks to go!!!!

So fun....the whole family just got to watch/feel baby practice breathing!!!!! I have seen it each time on my u/s's around now, but never watched/felt it through my belly until now! So precious and amazing.

This has NOT been our week. Car battery keeps dying, computer charer died(which was brand spanking new...), Autumn pulled the VERY heavy blinds down on her head and has a head wound, I feel like the baby is just going to slide out with all the pressure I feel, and DH has been a jerk. Ugh, hurry up end of week lol
