bad positioning. need advice.

Baby was doing so well being head down most of the time at 26-27 weeks but then 2 days ago I must have sat funny and ever since she has been strictly stubbornly transverse and I believe her back is towards my cervix!! Any advice to turn the baby? I know at 27 weeks nothing is set in stone but I really don't want her to get comfortable that way!

At 27 weeks I wouldn't worry at all.  My doc said she doesn't look at position until 32 weeks.  But if you're concerned and haven't come across it yet, spinningbabies.com has lots of suggestions for turning babies and proper positioning.  My doula also said that the best thing you can do to ensure proper positioning is to watch your posture.  Sit up straight and avoid slouching in chairs or comfy sofas.

I did a lot of tailor sitting on a birthing ball the last few weeks.  Babe was still posterior (ugh), but flipped around pretty easily once I was in active labor.

Another thing that can't hurt is regular adjustments with a webster-proficient chiropractor.  Good luck!

Yes, a chiro who specializes in prenatal treatment would really help ensure things are lined up just right!

Don't stress, there's still lots of room and baby can move all over the place.

Calladona, do I know you from TCOYF??  I haven't posted forever, but if you are the same Calladona, I remember you being a frequent poster there.   In any case, welcome to Mothering!

I second the suggestion of spinningbabies.com

I wouldn't even bother fooling with it until 32-33 weeks.

Definitely check out spinning babies - and I would give her Forward-Leaning-Inversion a shot. There's a video on the site that shows how to do it. Chiropractic care and yoga are other good ideas. Acupuncture, too, but maybe give the other options a try first. Like PPs have said, you've got time, though! Best wishes to you and your babe!

Check out the Miles Circuit! It worked wonders for me in my last pregnancy.

Babies turn into "final" correct position generally between 36 and 40 weeks. If around that time baby is still not head down talk to your dr. about trying to do a shimmy to move baby into position.
