lost some mucus plug...18 weeks.

just wondering if anybody else has lost any mucus plug. i already talked with my midwife and she said it's not unusual for a 2nd baby...she didn't seem concerned. and i had been trying to decide if i'd been having a very light cramping or just a tired uterus....and she said that was pretty normal too since it's growing so much.

anyways, of course i am a little concerned...but i am feeling the baby move which i find very reassuring. and just before i lost some mucus plug i was in the bath talking to the babe--and so feel ok...but like i said a little concerned. anyways--just wanted to check in with you other mamas...particularly those with 1 babe or more already.

I'm sorry that you're feeling worried mama <3 I'm going to agree with her that it's very normal for that to happen sporadically in subsequent pregnancies.  I wouldn't be concerned with it at all unless you start having regular contraction but I would also start chugging water now to try and relax the uterus or have a tiny bit of wine to help relax it.  Hugs to you mama

I never lost it the first time but I've heard numerous times that you can lose it and regenerate it lots of times. Don't stress

I lost mine at 34 weeks with my first and he wasn't born until 41 weeks. With the other two, I lost it 24 before their birth but it was always accompanied by other things.... Blood, contractions, back pain, etc.

If you mw isn't worried, I wouldn't worry either! smile.gif

I've had mucus that almost seems like the stuff from my plug since the beginning of this pregnancy. Very similar consistency. Anyway, I see it pretty regularly. Everything is fine with me and baby is kicking me regularly, so maybe it's something like that? Don't know how much mucus you were talking about though. I would find it reassuring if your midwife wasn't terribly concerned.

Really normal. I've had mucous enough to go whoa! when I wipe. I've also definitely noticed that it seems more prolific with subsequent pregnancies. My last pregnancy, I had to wear panty liners frequently because of the excess mucous. Fortunately, haven't gotten to that point yet this time, but I'm expecting to.

I am glad that it is not alarming your midwife ((hugs))
