Labor buddies « Back to Group Discussions

I was wondering if anyone was interested in doing this? Basically you get paired with another mama and exchange your contact info so that you can notify them when you go into labor and they can post it on here. They can also let you know about all the good vibes we're sending you while you're in labor 

If you are interested I'd be happy to set up the pairs.

I'd love to be counted in, but if this birth goes anything like my first one, there will barely be anytime for me to get organised and get going!  I don't know if I can add the task of contacting someone else!!!

Do we want our buddies to have similar due dates or is that not such a good idea?

That sounds good WLL. I think it might make sense to have a buddy with a very different due date so that there is no chance of overlap. Maybe at least a week or two off?

I would love to do this! I may have a very fast labor too though...

I would like to be involved... Although I have fast labors, and I'm not sure I would be organized enough to contact someone...

we could always do texting for those who have fast labors!  (Like, maybe save a text in your phone so all you have to do is push send!)

Also, a question about what if you go into labor in the middle of the night... Would you still text/call your buddy?  Or would you work that out with your individual buddy?

I'd think that would be something to work out with the individual buddy, since it all depends on the individual's comfort level. Don't count me in, just yet. I'm still considering this one. ;)

I think a buddy with a different due date might be a good idea so there is smaller chance of them both being labor at the same time!  I personally would prefer texting but think it's probably something to work out between buddies.  :)

Definitly like the idea of a ready made text!!! Especially as I am a terrible speller and user of my touch screen keyboard!!!!

OK since there is some interest, I will start an official sign up thread where everyone can post their due dates. I will leave it open until Friday. And then set everyone up with a buddy!
