Daily Check In - Page 8

No real cravings here yet, but I do seem to have an aversion to food in general. Especially raw fruits and veggies. I've had that same aversion every pregnancy so far, and I can't understand why. Shouldn't I be craving the good stuff?

Oh, dear. tmi warning. Woke this morning with some incredible diarrhea for the second time in a few days. really has me nervous that the baby won't be getting necessary nutrients from the food i'm eating. I've heard of nausea during the first trimester, but not diarrhea...

DW is also on a job hunt! How interesting that there is so much of that in this club. She is trying to find something closer to our hometown and my family, which is about 3 hours by car from where we are now.

7 weeks today, counted off my LMP. My first sonogram is 9 days away - I just can't wait to get a visual!

I find I crave expensive fruit and crappy food when I'm pregnant.

I'm eating cheerios and banana like it's my diet staple.

Eggs in the morning.  Blech.  I am sick of a queasy, sensitive stomach!

Good luck to all the job-hunters!

It's funny about these cravings. I have a really-really bad craving for this thing you all probably would find disgusting. It's a Hungarian specialty, little bits of fat, basically breaded and fried crunchy. Also, last time I went to the store I saw this amazing looking LEEK and I thought "I just have to have it right now", and, a day and a serious bout of indigestion later I am cooking the rest into a potato-leek soup. Hopefully it is more digestible this way. What was I thinking?????

I am also starting to get constant nausea. No vomiting or anything, but it only gets better if I eat and about half hour after that. But I take it as a sign that things go well, so no complaints.

Maszat, that's funny about your random cravings. I'm having the same nausea as you- just constant queasiness. I have been vomiting some though, ugh.

Serafina, I'm sick of it too. But I am on the same page as Maszat- it's a good thing, really, as it means our bodies are working :) But still. Ugh.

I'm also constantly tired. The rotation goes like this: Tired, hungry, nauseous, tired, hungry, nauseous... But, halfway through my 7th week, yay! I'm 6 weeks, 4 days :) We can do this, ladies!

I had a huge craving for loaded mashed potatoes (with cheese, bacon, sour cream, etc.) the other day, but sadly, I did not get to eat any. I've mostly been averse to lots of foods and just eating whatever doesn't sound completely repulsive, without really enjoying what I eat. I'm taking meds for reflux already, but it's not enough. I'm having trouble staying hydrated because I can't stomach plain water a lot of the time, but the other things I can drink have so much sugar that I can't take them in large amounts either. Ugh...5 more weeks. I'll be able to eat in 5 more weeks... I keep telling myself that.

Has anyone had severe vertigo? I ha to go to the Walkin clinic last night because two days ago my ears plugged right up and I became so dizzy that I couldn't move, I was curled up in a ball throwing up twenty times. It didnt feel pregnancy related and it happened again while I was teaching that the blood rushed out of my head and I was so dizzy and barely made it to the toilet In time to puke. I had to leave work right away to curl up in bed. Doc last night said it is common with pregnancies as the baby is sucking up all my blood and my head is not getting enough blood and my inner ears are causing me to be so off balance that I get the nausea. The only thing that works is laying down for a couple of hours till I get enough blood in my head. I never had this with my first!!!! Doc said supposedly it can last a week or more but I need to keep teaching ugh. I hope this doesn't last any more than a week! I know the baby develops so fast at this stage but has anyone experienced this?

Deli, mine hasn't been as bad as yours, that sounds terrible!! But I have been having dizzy spells pretty frequently. I hope that clears up very quickly for you, I know how debilitating dizziness can be, especially when it's so severe. I have had low blood sugar issues in the past, and have even fainted in public from it, so I completely know that feeling you're talking about. It's awful :( Feel better soon mama!

LC- sorry your nausea is so bad :( have you tried ice pops to help? or maybe just frozen lemonade or frozen water with a little flavor added? Ugh :/ Mine seems to be getting worse as well, I hope it doesn't last very long.

Ughhh why did I eat a bowl of cornflakes for lunch? I knew it was a bad idea. Milk is always bad for an unsettled stomach. Came dangerously close to up-chucking. I went and got myself some Indian food to stuff on top of the cornflakes and I feel marginally better. I dunno if I can handle things if I actually start puking. I HATE puking. Some people don't seem to mind it, but I will fight it with all I have.

Hoping we all get through this stage quickly.

I understand about the cravings!  I wanted a chili cheese coney from sonic the other day sooo bad.  I ate about half of it and it was the worst decision I could have ever made.  TMI but I threw up so much I don't think I'll even be able to look at one ever again.  Today I had a craving for a brownie fudge sundae from braums....it was awesome.  Hopefully this kid starts wanting healthy food soon though.

So I am weighing myself each week and I have actually lost 5lbs so far in this pregnancy though, which I really don't need to do to be honest.

Ugh John I hear ya. All I wanted in the world for lunch yesterday was a spicy chicken sandwich at Chic fil a, which I NEVER eat at. I mean never. But I just had to have it yesterday, and ughhh I was so nauseous all day long. Then my nausea went away just in time for my husband and my belated valentine's day dinner date, and I ate a 14 oz steak. It was the most steak I've ever eaten in one sitting. My husband was pretty impressed haha.

I crave McChickens with spicy mustard.
Got to cut that one out or look for low fat alternatives. Low fat alternatives for fat. Lol

I didn't get my loaded mashed potatoes, but I made a big batch of baked potato soup tonight and it was yummmmmm. I might have to have another bowl before I go to bed. First appointment tomorrow!

We have been quite quiet around here over the last few days, how is everyone coping?
I am a little baffled, my pregnancies are so similar it's like déjàvu. I was absolutely nauseated beyond belief bang on a week ago, this morning I wake up (7 weeks today yay!) and I felt awesome not sick at all. Still incredibly tired and all other symptoms but no nausea. Thank goodness. The same happened during my second pregnancy.
Off to see my midwife tomorrow morning. I'm really excited. Still a few weeks from hearing buttons heartbeat though. Can't wait to book my ultrasound. Even though its still a month a way. Can't believe I have known for a month already that I am pregnant.

Reading about everyone's cravings makes me feel a little less guilty about the mini chocolate cakes I baked tonight! I normally love cooking but this past week has been a drag with all of the exhaustion. Today I stayed in bed until 5 pm (!), and then got an urge to make up a bunch of stuff for the week. So we have risotto in the fridge and six servings of italian wedding soup in the freezer. Whew! My symptoms are so off and on. No nausea really, my recurrent issue seems to be unrelenting gas. Ugh, I can feel it lurching through my system, it has me doubled over a couple times a day it's so rough! And I continue to find that my stomach fares the best overnight if I have a little protein before bed. DW has some natural chocolate-flavored whey powder that I mix with a cup of milk some nights and really helps.

Hi everyone!  I'm new to this forum and am so excited to be pregnant so I can  join you all.

I just found out Friday that I am actually pregnant after my first IVF cycle and will be 6 weeks on on Wednesday... Other than being ridiculously bloated from the IVF hormones, I haven't really had any proper symptoms yet, but when I was pregnant with my son (14 years ago) I was pretty much symptom-free, so here's hoping!

I planned on trying to keep this pregnancy quiet, at least until the 8 week scan, but my blabbermouth husband has pretty much told everyone he's seen or spoken to in the last 3 days, which is lovely and infuriating - but this is his first so he's pretty excited and has already wrapped me in cotton wool... completely unnecessary I know, but I'm gonna just kick back and enjoy the pamper while i've got it! haha

This seems like a great place and you guys have already cracked me up with all your cravings and funny bowels! smile.gif

Glad I'm not the only gassy gal. It's not painful but just so blustery! I sit down to pee and am startled by gusts of air whooshing out. How can I have so very very much trapped air in me constantly? Bizzare.

We were living double lives yesterday.

My husband and I also went out for a belated V-Day dinner, and I ate a 16 oz. prime rib. I've been vegan all of 2013, but that steak was calling my name. I practically inhaled it.

Ugh I am so exhausted Dd woke up with diarrhea last night, and the night before it was throwing up.  I don't know what to think, she has no fever and during the day she is fine.  But she has thrown up more since we have been back in Texas than I think she has in the last two years :(

AFM- I felt fine when I went to bed, but couldn't go back to sleep after the diarrhea episode because I was so nauseas, it's like my m/s turned on just because I woke up...ugh.
