Daily Check In - Page 13

Justclaire huge hugs! For peace of mind it absolutely can't hurt to call your ob. I really hope it is absolutely nothing! If possible try to rest and take it easy.
Dahlia I am so pleased to hear you are feeling a bit better, eating in bed helped me when I was feeling abut under the weather.
Serenyd oh I really did laugh about the yoga pants backwards. My sons teacher is about 15weeks pregnant with her first child and yesterday the poor darling wore two left jandals( thongs) to work I had a wee giggle.
maszat I am very lucky in the fact my mother in law is a midwife so has all the equipment dopplers etc. so if ever I am feeling uneasy about something she pops over and we check baby, she just lives a block away. If you get a Doppler try and get one with 2mghz frequency, they are more sensitive and you can hear and find babies heartbeat a lot easier, if possible I would recommend getting someone to show you techniques of finding the hb because often it can be hard to find first time.
Shiloh those numbers are looking awesome!
Blonhrt so happy to see you over here, how are you feeling? I hope you find out your edd soon!
AFM it's Saturday morning here and my husband let me sleep in for almost 2 hours. Feeling so reassured we heard babies heartbeat so early. I can't wait for our scan in a few days just to confirm dates. I thought I was 110% sure but hearing the heartbeat so early I don't know. Hoping for a lovely relaxing weekend here. Keeping an eye out for a new house, we just rent so hoping something awesome may come up that's in our budget. Have a wonderful Friday ladies!!!!

Serenyd: Yoga pants CAN be very confusing LOL... oh you made me crack up with that!

Revolting: Good luck with your test results!  Ridiculous you should have to follow them up to get them eventually processed!

Dahlia: Please don't be jealous of my bump - I have NOTHING that does up anymore and I'm trying to pretend I'm not pregnant at work :)  not really working for me HAHA  Now I'm just deny deny deny.  Sorry you feel so ridiculously crap..  I heard that horrible morning sickness brings a mellow baby though!

Maszat: I agree with you - as good as men can be, they rarely understand why we want to be reassured so regularly.  They could not possibly understand that if you suddenly feel great, it's cause for alarm.  Being able to hear the heartbeat at home sounds like a dream come true!

Justclaire: I def agree with contacting your doctor just for peace of mind.  Spotting can be caused by loads of things and is quite often not a problem, but you need to put your mind at rest.

And me... I got my doctor to give me a second blood test yesterday.  I can't just wait until mid March for my scan and calmly go about my business... just want to keep an eye on my levels and hopefully get a bit of reassurance that it's all headed in the right direction... I feel empowered that they obeyed me!  HAHA  Results back today :)

Danielle how far along are you that you heard the hb?

I was 7 weeks, 3 days at my appt yesterday and my doctor straight up would not bust out the doppler to try to hear the heartbeat for me. She said it was just too early. But if memory serves me, Danielle is just a day or so ahead of me? Am I right, Danielle?

So, lucky lady with a midwife for a mother in law!!

Suzie- I hope you're right about having a mellow baby! That's my kind of kid, lol.

I'm doing pretty well right now. The b6/benedryl is working like magic. I started feeling sick again this afternoon, and took a second dose, and I'm good to go now! It's amazing. Thank God for it, because I can't imagine spending the next few weeks like I was yesterday. I've lost 6 pounds since the beginning of Jan, and I wasn't even throwing up that much until yesterday. That was just general nausea that took away my appetite. I could tell this morning, that if I didn't take anything I would be in for another day like yesterday. I was still really nauseous for a few hours this morning, but didn't throw up today. That's a first in the past week or so. Hooray for magic pills lol.

Dahlia WOOHOO for magic pills! Yep yesterday I was 7weeks and 4days. My mother in law has a 2mghz huntleigh Doppler which is super sensitive. But even she was initially unsure we should try and warned me we might not find a heartbeat but that everything was and dont be concerned if we didn't. Just lucky we did.

Suzie that is awesome you were able to get more tests, yay for a dr that listens. Look forward to hearing about your awesome results!

AFM- it's now 1:30pm Saturday and I have been asleep most of the day, I have had such a busy week, I have just woken up again and I feel good. Looks like the day is a bit of a right off thankfully we had no plans.

Aww I can't wait for that Danielle, it's my favorite part. For me, it beats the ultrasounds, gender reveal and everything! I love that little swish swish.

so happy your pills are helping dahlia.

my first midwife appt. is Friday at 1 and I'm so so excited to find out all the details. This lady has amazing reviews from close friends of mine, and just talking to her on the phone made me relax, and that's exactly what I want. DH is super busy that day at work so it will be just be DS and I :(

Blonhrt, sounds like you found a great midwife! I'm sure that makes all the difference in the world. I feel like I'm still flailing around a bit trying to decide what I want in an OB. I'm sorry your husband can't be with you on Friday :( I'm sure he wishes he could be there too. We'll all be with you in spirit though :)

I'm starting to feel sick again puke.gif Isn't this emoticon the best!? LOL I was just thinking that there should really be one for nausea... and there it is. hahaha. It speaks to me like no emoticon has ever spoken to me before. It sums up morning sickness so perfectly. ROTFLMAO.gif

Dahlia: Everytime you hit a wave of nausea, just think "thank god i'm having a mellow baby..."  lol but really, hope it passes quickly!

Blonhrt: So lucky to have a good midwife!  I still can't find anyone in my area that does share care with the hospital (i live an hour away from the hosp. and the parking is AWFUL.  I stop being an IVF patient after my 8 week scan so getting a bit desperate...

Danielle: Your mother in law sounds awesome.  And useful!  Mine is just a pain in the neck nightmare hahahaha I'm a bit jealous :)

Have to wait another hour before I get my HCG result... nervous!

Dahlia you poor thing I hope you and that emoticon don't get too well acquainted. I seriously recommend homeopathic spray and sea bands.

Suzie I am so very lucky to have such a great mother in law, she is incredibly useful and amazing with my boys. My own mother on the other hand is a bit of a lunatic which is very sad.

2nd beta 8200! So doubling every 79 hours and I should be 72-96 hours at that level! Or 96+ over 6000.
I'm relaxing.

Anyone know if it is dangerous to be exposed to fire extinguisher chemicals during pregnancy? Just put out a small fire in my kitchen and am faced with clean-up... DW is away but called a friend of hers to come help me.
Goves, mask, open windows.
I think you're okay with a home dry extinguisher.
Thank you, Shiloh! Ugh, what a day. As if the fire wasn't scary enough, as soon as the extinguisher went off I had that sudden fear of what I had exposed my baby to. Obviously it's one if those risk/reward situations and you just do what you have to do, but.. Ugh. What a mess, and boy do I feel like an idiot for letting it happen in the first place.

Please everyone, make sure you've got an extinguisher in your house and that you know where to find it/how to use it!
The fire extinguisher is safer than the fire! From what a read there's actually mostly nitrogen and baking soda in most of the home ones:

Sphinxy:  Well done on saving your kitchen!  I don't know anything about extinguishers, but from what I've googled, the powder is more of an irritant than a chemical for if you're only exposed for a short time,  That must have been intense!  I would prob seek reassurance from your doctor, just to put your mind at ease though.

Or call the manufacturer!

Sphinxy how scary, I'm pleased you were able to put the fire out though!

How is everyone doing today? I am 8weeks along today and feeling pretty good, tired still beyond belief thinking maybe my iron is low so having that tested next week. I have my ultrasound on Wednesday morning joy.gifonly two more sleeps, I'm so excited! And at 4:30pm today my dh is on holiday finally! I am so looking forward to having him around the house. Thankfully the weeks seem to be going by just that little bit faster. 12weeks is coming up!!! I think my knitting mojo is coming back to which is awesome! I hope I find some sewing mojo in there too!

Danielle - I could use some knitting mojo. I still have things I meant to finish for the winter holidays to finish up. Sheepish.gif I'd love to get that done so that once I get into the second trimester I can focus on knitting for the new baby.

My iron and vitamin D are both low, despite taking supplements that are supposed to cover the deficiencies. Not sure what to do about that.

5+3 today.
Cannot breathe, heart won't stop racing, cannot stay asleep. My asthma is going haywire. Have hemotologist app tomorrow, varicose viens got a new one great.
Feeling sick haven't been upchuck sick.
DP is concerned which is a nice change from last pregnancy.

Went to emerg for my breathing, got mask, they suggested stress was making my asthma symptoms worse. But atleast no issues with blood clots.
