Whew! So, I gave birth to my sweet Willa on feb 1st at 7:03 pm, after a smooth induction for what was initially diagnosed as cholestasis. The birth was good, but tough! Pitocin contractions without an epidural are kinda rough. And I definitely learned that faster is not better.
Unfortunately, about two hours after I delivered, while resting in bed, I had a seizure. They aren't sure what caused it, but are calling it atypical eclampsia. So, I was in the ICU for 36 hours or so on a mgso4 drip, and had all sorts of crazy work ups and tests. On top of that, when I had my seizure, I dislocated my left shoulder and fractured my arm just a bit, so needless to say, my postpartum period as been quite complicated.
Willa has been great! Awesome nurser, stellar baby and just a little peanut at 6 lbs 7oz.
But, hey, nobody worry, I got the rare complication out of the way for our group! You'll all be fie now!

. I hope it's all behind you by now, and that your arm heals up quickly.
