Flouride and Holistic Dentists

I had a saddening experience with my 2.5 year old DS today. It was a first time dentist appt at a pediatric dentist in Bucks County, PA. The dentist came in, started cleaning his teeth and without asking painted the flouride on. I was and am so upset as this is not what I wanted. I gently brought it up afterwards that this was something I didnt know was right for him and got the "well, this is necessary and all kids get it." I feel at a loss. Anyone know of a more holistically friendly dentist?
