I don't post very often, but always enjoy reading birth stories. I had my second vbac at home at 39 weeks 5 days and thank God it went beautifully. I woke up in the morning with a little bloody show. I had a feeling that birth would happen that day or the next morning. Also, the day before I had tons of bhs contractions (not painful) that were a little draining, but I slept pretty well that night, which was nice.
Once I woke up with the bloody show, i told my husband that he may not be working a full day that day. I dropped off my kids at school and could tell that I may be in early labor. I had an appt that day with the midwife. I got to the appt at 1230 and asked her to check if I was dilated. I was 3 cm. By 3:00 my contractions were catching my attention, but felt great. At 4:30, I asked my husband to call the midwife to come when they can. They got to my house at 6:00 and I was 6 cm with a bulging bag. By 7:30 I got in the water and could tell my body was slowly pusing the baby down. Around 8:10, my kids were outside my room, waiting to come in to see the birth. Around this time, I could tell my body started bearing down - when I reached down to feel, I could tell it wasn't the head but the bulging bag! It honestly felt like a bulging helium balloon. It was so strange, but cool! The kids came in at this time and had a nice view of the birth. When i looked down, the bag was getting bigger and then I could see the backside of the head in the bag! Again, it was amazing! I slowly pushed my baby out while in the bag. The midwife helped me catch and pulled the bag over the body. Truly amazing!
My little one weighed 8lbs 4oz.

Congrats!
