I have layered them on top of bigger pads before though if I needed the absorbancy.

Awesome! I will be doing this next weekend smile.gif

LOL! Let me know if you hear of anyone else who has used it! I have scoured the internet and run out of testinonials to read but I still can't seem to find that one bit of info (whatever it might be) to tip me in either direction.

I have used frozen disposable pads in the past but with a postpartum herbal mix/water instead of witch hazel.  They are wonderful, cheap, and easy to use.  You can always switch to cloth pads after a couple of days or whenever you don't need the cold any longer.

Don't use the witch hazel with alcohol!  Try to find Thayer's or another brand that doesn't contain alcohol.

I can't decide!  I have a midwife appointment on Wednesday so I might get her opinion.  But I am concerned by what you said re: longer gestations with taking it.  Where did you hear about that?  I don't care if I go late naturally but I don't have much interest in elongating my pregnancy either (especially given the size of my son at only 39w4d).

MMH has a "Bargain" day every other Wednesday (you can request one of their free calendars to get all their sales for the year, but they are out right now so they're offering a free bottle of something- I forget- for now instead).  It's only on that day, though.  This Wed. is B1G1 50% off, which works great for me since I am ordering some of their After Pain tincture instead of AfterEase this time, and I also need to get some of their Vascular Ease lotion for my legs/feet (feels soooooo wonderful).  Then Wed. the 27th is their $1 shipping day, Wed. 3/13 is just 10% of calcium and 3/27 is free shipping on $50+ orders.  April has B3G1 Free and then Free shipping on any order.

I think it had just been from reading a lot of testimonials here and on other places online...but this was back when I was researching 5w formulas in general with DD2, so about 5 years ago.  That's why I'm digging for the info now, because I'm trying to ease my mind about taking it! LOL  My body is always SO ready to go once I do (albiet prompted by me!  But I figure it wouldn't work so easily if I wasn't ready), so I figure the worst that can happen is NOTHING and it's just lke my previous pregnancies. LOL

I will probably end up ordering on a non sale day, if I do, because I want to show this to my  midwife and see what her thoughts are. It can be so different though. I see 5 diff. midwives and of the 2 I talked to about RRL, one said she'd wait until after 30 weeks, and the other said it was a great toner and I could start it right away at like...25 weeks.

For those packing a hospital bag can you share what you be including in that?

I was soooo unprepared last time and I know there are things I will definitely be packing this time. I need to compile my list but am hoping for ideas from you ladies!

I didn't feel underpacked at my hospital birth at all but she was born at 5:33 am and we stayed until 2:00pm the NEXT afternoon (so we spent one night in the hospital).  The day we spent there was filled with getting the hearing test and having her weighed ,etc.  Even when DH went home for 5 or 6 hours, I was learning how to nurse and holding my baby.   That said, I remember packing:

Clothes to go home in

Pillows to sleep with

wool socks (someone said hospitals were always cold)

Baby clothes to go home (we just used the t-shirt and blankets the hospital provided while there).

I didn't pack anything for entertainment at all (though now my laptop might go).

Underwear (but now I'd probably pack depends)

I did wish for an extra pair of Mesh panties while I was there so I might consider order a pair or two of those since the hospital only provided one which was immediately soaked in blood.

In short, I packed light and didn't regret it.

Can anyone recommend where I can find dry herbs for pp baths? The recipe I was given includes comfrey leaves, calendula flowers, shepherds purse, rosemary leaves, lavender flowers, rose petals & UVA Uris... I'd like to mix them myself so need them in bulk... And baby could possibily be here in just a little more than two weeks, (as that's when they are taking the stitch out... SOOO idk that ordering is an option as most places are saying 3/4 weeks... Any suggestions?

I order mine from More Than Alive, they've usually been pretty quick for me...  I know lots of people order from MRH, but their shipping is soooo costly.  If all else fails, do you have anywhere that sells Earth Mama Angel Baby products I know they make an herbal bath, not sure if it's the same ingredients you want though.  Does your local health food store sell bulk herbs?  Mine does but a limited selection which is why I generally order them.

This is my all-time favorite website for herbs and such. They have everything you mentioned in bulk, and it's all organic and very high quality! Any time I've ordered from them I've used the cheapest shipping possible, so it's been a little slow (I'd say 2 weeks average if I had to guess??), BUT...I would imagine they can get it to you faster if you pay for better shipping! :)

Ill check out more than alive, thanks! And yeah I can't afford MRH shipping. And we live kind of in the middle of nowhere so we don't really have a local health food store and stupidly when we were just outside DC on Tuesday and Wednesday for my dr appt I totally forgot to check out a few stores around there lol prego brain argh lol

Just curious how much shipping usually runs for you?  I've only ordered there a handful of times in the past, but as I mentioned in the other thread I'm considering their Iron Care tincture now that I'm running out of my Herbal Iron from MMH since I like the 2 additional ingredients they include.  However, shipping is $10 to me, and I'm even in OR with them!  I'd really like to try it, though.

That sounds like about what shipping runs for me, and I'm all the way in OK! Weird. But yeah, I usually wait until I have a long list of things I need from them and make a big order so the shipping doesn't hurt quite so much (sometimes my MIL and I combine our orders and split the shipping cost and that helps, too!). I know they have an option for picking it up at their location if you're close enough! I really do love their Iron Care formula, it's working SO well for me. ^^
