could a waterbirthed baby somersault out so they look like they were breech?

Not sure where to post this...DS3 was born 2 weeks ago, home waterbirth.  DH caught him coming into the room last minute.  He thinks he was breech.  I'm not so sure...definitely felt like a head being pushed out!  (DS2 was breech so I have birthed a breech baby before).  And I know he was head down a couple of hours before he was born, so if he did turn breech it was a last minute thing.  I'm wondering if DS3 could have somersaulted as he was being born so that it looked like he was breech even though he wasn't.  He didn't have the cord wrapped around him anywhere and it seemed to be a normal length cord.  FWIW I pushed (well didn't push the contraction did the work) in sort of a frog position, on my knees sitting back on my feet with my hands on the floor of the pool, so he came out behind me.  My position was kind of in between hands & knees & kneeling I guess.  I've tried to visualize how it would have looked and I can't do it.  He did come out quite fast, all in one motion.

At what point did dh see what was happening? Was the whole baby out?

I am not sure exactly where DH came in.  He gives a rather vague description.  The one thing I did think was a little funny at the time was that it felt like when baby was crowning, I felt more stretch across the width of the perineum than across the length.  Which I guess could be consistent with a breech baby, although I don't specifically remember how it felt with any of my others. 

I've pretty much decided he must have been breech based on DH's description and another friend who came in right behind DH.  Although their accounts are quite different (DH says butt toward wall, head down me, belly down, friend says butt toward wall, feet & head toward me but belly UP) and I don't see how they can both be right!

I wonder if a right-handed person would tend to put their right hand under baby's head when catching, even if they had to reach further than with their left hand.  I have pictures of DH right after he caught him and his butt is in DH's left hand and his head in DH's right.  If he was breech DH would have had to reach further with his right hand to get to his head--if he'd just scooped him up his head would have been in DH's left hand (if he was breech).  I'm sure I'm overanalyzing here lol.
