9 week old German Shepherd

Hi all!

We are the proud owners of a 9 week old GS. We are in love, the kids are so good with her, like little mamas, and ths 2yr old ds, is entralled with her.

I am interested in how to introduce our 2 cat to her. The cats are super friendly , one is a little skittish. The cats have their own place to go with food, litter etc, so the can get away from the puppy.

Any good tips? Good websites for puppy info? I have never had a dog before, so need advice

Let the puppy go to the space the cats usually occupy without the cats there so it can smell the cats. Let the cats do the same. Do that over two days or so. Then allow them to have only visual contact with each other. Like if they can see each other through a glass door that would be ideal. Once that is going well, (the dog is interested but not crazed at the sight of them, the cats don't seem nervous, scared or upset) use a barrier like a baby gate so they can see, smell and kind of touch each other safely.
After that goes well allowed for a short supervised together time. Let them stay long enough get comfortable but be sure to end it with everyone happy and calm. Continue doing this adding more time each time. Once the puppy isn't riled up by the cats and generally ignores them you're probably good.
GS being herders try to herd everything which the cats might find annoying so make sure they are settled and relaxed too. My GS mix use to try to herd my bunny. It was pretty adorable.
