Looking for AP Child Care for my Son in the East Valley

Hi All!

I am desperately searching for an AP-friendly, loving childcare provider for my son FT beginning in April.  He will be 6 mos old at that point.  I have found lots of great places for toddlers, but nothing I like for my baby.  Any suggestions?  Any SAHMs who might want to take on a sweet baby boy?  He is so accustomed to being held constantly and loved up, I just feel sick about having to leave him somewhere where they will stick him in a crib during the day.  We live in NE Mesa.  I dont think I can afford a FT nanny (and no staying at home isnt an option for me--unfortunately).  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi Kristenlynn! Did you also post it in the Arizona forum or do you want me to move it for you? It is possible to find great infant care but you do have to look hard and ask around. I totally lucked out when my children were little. Our child care providers were like 'third parents' in our lives--so consistent and loving. It is so hard to make that leap when it is time!

Have you considered a nanny share? Or if you have an AP or LLL group in your area maybe you can find an AP mama who would care for your child along with her own for slightly less cost to you?

We did a nanny share & it was really wonderful. We found a nanny who would rock my son to sleep, wear him & respect our parenting approach. Then we found a family who was not necessarily AP but great nonetheless. We meshed well & got the care we wanted for our son.

Good luck with your search - it's not easy & really time consuming.
