LONDON (Reuters) - Mounting evidence of a link between GlaxoSmithKline's Pandemrix flu shot and a spike in narcolepsy cases among children in Europe is putting one of the vaccine's key ingredients, AS03, under intense scrutiny.

The ingredient is one of a class of pharmaceuticals known as adjuvants, or boosters, designed to turbo charge the potency of a vaccine and the body's immune response to it

AS03 was widely used in Europe during the 2009-2010 H1N1 flu pandemic and is also contained in a GSK adjuvanted flu vaccine which in November last year became the first of its kind to be recommended for approval by the normally adjuvant-wary United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

I read an articial on yahoo last week on this topic. don't qoute me but there was somthing like 50 million doses given (H1N1) with the adjuvant and there have been upwards of 800 children diagnosed with narcolepsy. REALLY all because of a pandemic that never happened.

Thank you for your reply Kirasmom.

Coincidentally I came across this article:

So here's what bothers me about this article: TITLE "H1N1 Adjuvant Flu Vaccine Not Linked to Adverse Fetal Outcomes."
STUDY
"Our data might be generalizable to nonadjuvanted A(H1N1)pdm09 vaccines because they contain identical viral antigens, although the antigen doses and manufacturing processes may differ. However, results from this study do not provide evidence of safety for vaccines with other adjuvants," the researchers noted. Did I miss something? or for the study to really mean anything regarding ADJUVANTS shouldn't the study have been done on those who were given the ADJUVANT VAX. Isn't the adjuvant the questionable portion of the VAX just like the study regarding narcolepsy they will reasearch some other VAX to make us think there products are safe and effictive to get the good old FDA TO APPROVE another toxic product they wont be held accountable for.

Just my opinion. However my husband see they studie result as effictive
