I am wishing to learn some new daily songs to sing to my 16 month old during our day. Any one have any favorite (easy for me to learn) ones they can share with me?
Thank you,
-Nicole

We just picked up a copy of Seven Times the Sun and there are lots of songs in there for all times of the day. We are still learning them but just wanted to throw that out as a resource. I have seen in at the library in some areas we've lived.
Here is a little verse I like in the morning as we look out the window:
Good morning dear earth, good morning dear sun
Good morning dear stones, and flowers each one
Good morning dear bees, and birds in the trees
Good morning to you, and good morning to me
And we use Brahms lullaby for our night song.
Lullabye, and goodnight
With lilies of white
And roses of red
To pillow your head
May you wake when the day
Chases darkness away
May you wake when the day
Chases darkness away
Another good one for bedtime is:
I see the moon and the moon sees me
Down through the leave of the old oak tree
Please let the moon that shines on me
Shine on the ones I love
(you can google other verses and hear the tune - its sweet)
These are so lovely, thank you!
I second Seven Times the Sun. Also, the various books like Gateways, Spindrift and the corresponding seasons have many songs, poems and stories in them. Here are two of our favorites from STTS:
Good morning, good morning,
Good morning to you. 2x
Good morning's what we say,
Good morning's what we do.
Good morning, good morning,
Good morning to you.
The angel hovers tenderly,
pulls down the shade.
Shadows grow long.
Sleepy eyes fade,
in the dusklight,
the moonlight,
the starlight,
Good night.
