We have chosen Jesse Rhys for this little guy.  I had alot of girl names I had been thinking about so was really caught off guard with another little boy.  It was either going to be Henry Rhys or Jesse Rhys and I think I like Jesse more so we have been calling him that :)

Me too on the Harry Potter front. Cannot believe how long it took me to read the series. I only finished it last year!

Severus and Soren who knew! I also love Luna, Fluer and Hermoine! My hubs would never go for any of those!

I read Harry Potter for the first time in 2012 too. I became pretty obsessed. There are a lot of good names in that series. SIrius, Godric & Lavender are some of my faves, although I joked a lot about naming our twins Padma & Parvati, like the Patil twins. (we're not having 2 girls so those names are off the table!) If we have two boys, we could name them Albus & Aberforth.... I also know a little Harry who was named after the boy who lived. My wife is pretty against using a harry potter name because she thinks my obsession is a little out of control. I will just have to name our next flock of chickens after HP characters.

You guys are to Harry Potter what I am to Star Trek.  Tiberius and Sarek were removed from the table early on, but I have dreams.  DREAMS, I say!  If everyone keeps vetoing my other names then I may end up with Tiberius Smith!  :)

jen&james - Jesse Rhys is a great name!  Classic and new at the same time!

KaliHekate - Soren is a great name and I think unless special characters are used (Søren) then I don't think it's TOO Scandinavian.  I do find it interesting to see the link between my beloved character (Snape) and Soren!  :)

I've been a Harry Potter fan since 2000. Not from the very start, but pretty close! My eleven-year-old cat is named Weasley because he's orange. Nothing compares to those books, in my opinion.  My friend asked if I gave my second son the middle name Phoenix because of Harry Potter, knowing my obsession! But, no, it's after the constellation. 

Jen&James: My nephew is a Jesse! Definitely a nice name. Not popular, yet mostly everyone has heard it and you shouldn't have too many problems with spelling or pronunciation. These things make a great name to me, so I doubly approve your choice!

I attempted to convince my DH it was a great idea to go for the middle name of Tiberius. He wouldn't buy it.

BUT I did manage to convince him that the first name Rory (from Doctor Who, one of the recent companions) would make a fantastic first name.

Alright.... since we're talking nerdy names, I'll spill one of the names on our boy shortlist (there are 5 names there currently). Malcolm. Seems a nice normal name yes? We've both got Scottish ancestry so it could be referencing that instead of Malcolm Reynolds captain of the Serenity....

I'm a huge nerd too. We've been contemplating Jadzia (from Star Trek DS9) for a girl, but not sure if it's too unusual or hard to pronounce. I thought about Rory (from Doctor Who) for a boy as well.

Yes we are a bunch if geek mamas here! I told DH that I would concider Leia if we have a girl. Then as you saw on my huge huge list of names some geek ones like Logan, Emmett, Flynn and Sebastian. I love all these names but my darn hubs makes it SO HARD.

I love Dr. Who too yes! Don't forget Donna, Rose or Martha. Though I like Amelia, Rory and River far more. I know Rory can be a nickname of Lorieli atleast that's how it was in Gilmore Girls right?

Rory got vetoed on my last pregnancy.  I was pretty heartbroken about it, but we had a girl anyways, so no big deal in the end!  :)

I'd totally go for River on this kid if I could.  River Song is like, my all time favorite character now from that show.  Plus my name is Brooke, so I think I might be able to just say, "oh, it's like a different form of my name!"

Malcom is a great name too!  And a pretty easy one to sneak in, as it is a "normal" name anyways!

I'm still stuck on Dexter if it's a boy, even though no one else in my family likes it. They'll just have to get over it.

As for a girl, I'm falling out of love with Zoey and falling in love with Ann Marie. Ann is my MIL's middle name and Marie is my mom and my's middle name. I just wish I could persuade DH. He doesn't like it.

MamaMash, Juliet is also the name of the baby in The Walking Dead comic. In the show, they went with Judith.

CDsmom- ooh really?? I haven't read the comics (yet) so I had no idea. But I love that. The only other girl name I like, well adore truth be told, is Scarlett. I guess Gone with the Wind counts as nerdy too.
