I've been nursing DS for 10 months now, and all of a sudden it's painful!! VERY painful! We have only JUST gotten over multiple illness (flu, then pnuemonia, then 2 vicious stomach bugs, spaced only about 72 hours apart) so we've been on a lot of antibiotics and oral/inhaled steriods. it's been a long 8 weeks and now i think we may have thrush. DS has white ish patches on his tongue, but it's not covered, and as far as I can tell, there is nothing on his cheeks. My nipples are very painful and sore, they are bright red and are cracking and flaking... I called the ped and got nystatin called in, but i'm still not 100% sure its thrush. anyone have any thoughts? experience?? thanks in advance!
