I have worked with children all my life. I was a teacher and a day care director. I am out of it now, but I can understand your concern with your baby. I also try not to be negative, becuase each child has his own personality. The more active they are, the harder to control. I have recently experienced this with my grandaughter. Seriously, she does not stay still, She literally bounces off the walls. Her attention span is very short. She just turned one. She doesn't seem to have any down time. This makes it frustrating for parents and grandparents to deal with or control. She touches everything (like you said) . It is harder work. I don't like to put a stereotype on this either, but again, I do understand that it is your child and you want answers. i would say that as long as the child gets a good nights sleep or takes some naps, that you wait until the child gets older to try to get tests done. Ask your pediatrician what they think, but in the long run, you are the mom and you know your child best.
