baby flipped! breech at 38+ weeks

Hi mamas

I am sitting here with frozen veggies on my belly...

At my MW appointment today we discovered my babe, who has been head down since 30 weeks turned over sometime in the last week.  I naively thought babe would stay put!  It feels so tight that I don't know how LO had room to turn.  The weird thing is I have a foot in the rib in the same place.  It totally caught me off guard.  I am birthing at birthing center where they do not attempt vaginal breech births. Now I have to think about a possible c-section and all that comes with it.

I spent two hours in the pool tonight doing handstands.  A group in the hot tub thought I was very amusing.  I'm also doing pelvic tilts and forward leaning inversions.  I have an acupuncture app in the morning for Moxy.

If that doesn't work my MW suggested ECV for Thursday because I'll be 38w 3d.

I had friend recommend pulsatilla, but I don't know much about it and what I have time for.

Does anyone have any experience with trying to turn such a late term baby?  Any advice?

No experience but multiple moms told me to use pulsatilla and it had worked for them.  Sending you some baby spinning vibes, mama!

Katiesophie I feel your pain. I am more of a lurker on this page but had to reply back to u. With my son he flipped breech at 39 weeks too. I didn't even realize it. I found out at my midwife appt. I did Moxy, put the surfboard up against the couch and layed on it upside down. Then put music and warm compress where I wanted his head to go and ice up by my ribs. The next day they had me scheduled for a version. The doc walked in and said I was over 39 weeks there was no way it would work. I just closed my eyes. Prayed and talked to baby. Thank goodness the amazon midwives were there. The doc was pretty negative about it even during the procedure. On the 4th attempt baby turned!!! A week and two days later I had a healthy 12.5 ounce baby naturally. Good luck!!

My only encouragement is this, if he flipped this late, he CAN flip back!  Some babies will do that, right up until labor.  Try everything you can, and have faith!

Thanks mamas!

Just spent an hour at pool doing handstands, had two sessions of Moxy today and have been doing everything else we could think of.

I've been visualizing and talking to baby all day about spinning, listen to mama, LO  :)

Maybe babe will turn tonight!

MW scheduled an ECV for tomorrow.   A little nervous but trying to relax.

Do you have time for chiro before the version attempt?

I was in similar boat to you just yesterday.  37 weeks and this girl has flipped at least twice!  I went to chiro for Webster just yesterday.... my U/S showed that she is back in position today.  It was my first chiro visit ever and I was hopeful but a little skeptical.  Clearly, something worked!

Also, my OBs were all really optimistic about ECV.  They all seemed to feel that their practice has a higher success rate at it than what I was reading online, so I hope it is the same for you.  Keep asking to try again if it doesn't work the first time.  Good luck!
