I have a feeling that I'm the oldest one here at 44. Anyone else of "advanced maternal age"?

I'm 37, will be 38 when the baby arrives, so that makes me AMA.  However, it's my first pregnancy/baby, so I feel that it makes me quite an amateur as well!

I am/will be the same age as harmonious, except its my third baby. Another old bat for the AMA group. Lolligee wanna be our honorary elder?

Oh, and btw I'm totally AMA cause just this morning I discovered white 'personal' hairs. TMI sorry, but I totally earned those.

41 here.

Just had a mess of recommendations for monthly growth/fluid checks and NSTs thanks to the fact of AMA.
Hmph.

I feel relatively disinclined to comply with the schedule...

As your elder...you literally made me snort with laughter the that! Of course, I'm old, so I can snort when I laugh if I want to. :0P

Yeah, my maternal fetal medicine doc tried to tell me that you placenta will age faster because I'm old (okay, he didn't say "old", he a more polite than that, but it's what he meant) and that I should induce at 39 weeks. This is in addition to my being diabetic, so they push me to induce because the baby might get too big or could die. Of course, they don't mention that the risk of dying is only when you haven't got good sugar control. Which I do. Just bugs me. So, I consent to NSTs to appease them and allow my baby to come in their own time. I have consented to inductions with Cytotec in the past and although I had a very good experience, I feel very fortunate after learning more about it. The most I would agree to at this point is natural methods. Which I know won't work if baby's not ready.

So, since I'm on my phone and can't see your signatures, how many kids do you all have? And what age range? This is number 6 for me. My oldest is 22, next is 16, then almost 12, 5 and 2 1/2. All the same relationship, we just really spread our kids out. Also, they're all boys, even the one on the way. Well, the oldest is female by birth, but is trans and has been on testosterone for almost a year.

I have five. Three boys, two girls. 15, almost 14, almost 11, 8 and almost 6. (All of the *almosts* have birthdays within two weeks of each other, starting April.) Also all the same relationship.

I'm 35 and will be 36 when the baby is born.   I have a 9 year old son .

I was offered a special ultrasound with specialists and geneticist because of my AMA.  I declined .

I just turned 38. My daughter is turning four. Partner has two older kids 19 and almost 17 who visit in the summer.

My midwife could give a whit about AMA, I do not think it has ever come up. She is pretty much awesome in every regard.

Yeah, my MW doesn't care about my age either. But since I'm diabetic I have to see the specialist and of course, they bring up my age.

i am 36 and will be 37 when the babe arrives...i have a 2 year old as of 2/24 :) and my mw hasn't ever brought up age...i think she's about my age and she had her first a few months before i had mine...and just had her second yesterday. anyways...i have another friend using a birth center and midwives...and she just turned 35 and they are all over her with stuff she has to do for her AMA. i can tell you i wouldn't go through what she is choosing to go through! but, to each their own. :)

I'm 34 and will still be 34 when baby comes BUT at my first 2 appts they asked me my age and then asked how old I would be when I deliver.  I (of course) respond with, I'm 34 and will still be 34 and they say "oh you missed the AMA cut off by 3 months etc etc but they dropped it after that.  It seems strange to me that it would make such a HUGE difference if I'm 3 months away from 35 or actually 1 day past 35, ya know?!

I am AMA because I am 38

I have a 6 yr old girl and 3 yr old boy.   I have a mw who works with an obgyn and so far genetic testing using blood tests is all that has been discussed a little more than usual.  She is fine with my responses so far (wait and see if we need to be alarmed or test to be prepared for more support after birth.)  I am fine with getting the 20 week anatomy scan and we will see if anything peculiar shows up then that needs extra care/attention.

I'm AMA and will be 36 when the baby (our first) is born. The only thing they've done so far is make me do the level 2 ultrasound with the special doc-who I didnt particularly like anyway.

It always cracks me up that 37 is "older".  I will have a newborn in a couple of months, not a great time to be thinking of oneself as old!

It hasn't come up with my midwife yet, pretty sure they don't care.  I have 2 kids already 8 1/2 and 5.

I'm of the opinion that having babies helps keep you young, no matter what your actual age is.
