Hi everyone,redface.gif

Found out i was pregnant on Vday  love.gif and was wondering when do i start looking for a Midwife? I am 4 weeks today Due Oct 25. I wont be able to use my husbands insurance since its a HMO irked.gif , it does not cover a Midwife so we may have to pay cash. This is my 4th Baby and my second that i will homebirth.

I would start looking soon. HB midwives in my area are in high demand and their schedules book quickly! Congrats!!

I agree with Eternalaw. While you may not actually have your first appointment for a couple more months, you will want to have your MW selected and a first appointment and birth month/weeks on your MW's calendar.

I agree with the others - start now and secure the one you like as soon as you can.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS joy.gif

I started looking for a midwife pretty much as soon as I found out I was pregnant and had interviews with them almost immediately after contact. I got set up as a client, and then they started seeing me starting at 10 weeks.

Paying out of pocket, you should probably be able to get a discount if you pay by x date(usually in full by 36w).
