is it a bad habit to give LO a snack before bed

Sometimes my 3 month old needs a 5 minute snack before bed after an exiting day even if she ate recently. My cousin thinks its a unhealthy habit and i should stop? Is she right?

Feed your baby when they are hungry. They know what they need, as parents we just need to listen!

Agreed. Offer your breast whenever baby indicates the wish to feed or suckle.

She is wrong, dead wrong. Breastfeeding is an on-demand system; you feed your baby (especially a three-month-old infant!) when they are hungry, whenever that happens to be. This keeps your supply up and the baby gets just the exact right number of calories that she needs for the day.

First, adults having a snack right before bed can sometimes be bad for digestion/sleep, but a 3-month-old is not an adult. Their stomachs are still so tiny and they need to be fed when they are hungry and if that quick "snack" before bed gets you and your baby some more sleep at night, even better!

Second, you aren't forming ANY habits with a 3 month old anyway, you can't, too little!
