Anyone have brand recommendations? I might need to order on amazon since it will arrive faster than me getting to the store!!

Anyone have recommendations for brands for lactation aides? Fenugreek, blessed thistle, mothers milk, etc.

I will be trying again to EBF after breast reduction and reconstruction surgeries.

I just stocked up on American Health brand EPO - the capsules are quite potent (1300 mg). I've been taking 2 per day orally but my midwife suggested I switch it up and begin taking one orally and one vaginally per day.

I've been very happy with herbs (including RRL) purchased from Mountain Rose Herbs. I guess they don't sell that on Amazon, though.

I'm sorry I don't have any lactation aid recommendations. I will be taking notes myself, so here's hoping some other mamas can share some good info!

I agree. The RRL from Mountain Rose is good!

There was a two pack of Fenugreek on Amazon that I bought and really liked last time. I think it was Nature's Way? White bottle, green lettering. My 2yo is tongue tied and for many reasons that I regret now, we didn't clip. I used the Fenugreek to boost my supply and it really helped quickly. :) He's my 7th child and I have never had to use anything before so I really have no other experience.

I have this?  From iHerb:

They also have an organic version for a few $$ more.

I get most of my herbs through The Bulk Herb Store. Pretty decent prices and good selection. Most everything is organic, too!

What an awesome website, Jodie!! Thank you for sharing. I was just reading about red raspberry leaf tea and i really like this paragraph:

The uterus is one of the most amazing organs in the female body. We ask our uterus to sit docile for decades, and then in 38 short weeks of pregnancy, it has to stretch to 10 times the size it has always been. It starts at the size of a tennis ball, and has to stretch to the size of a beach ball. WOW! The uterus adds around 2 pounds of muscle and process as much as one liter of blood per minute. When our baby is ready, we start to flood the uterus with hormones called prostaglandins, making the uterine muscle cells more sensitive to the hormone oxytocin, simultaneously softening the cervix. And then it is time; we start to sweat, scream, and even swear, that we can’t do it, and we are right. We can’t, but our uterus can. Relax and let your uterus do its work. The contractions start to pound the uterus, exerting as much as 43 pounds per square inch, contracting and retracting. Then, finally, in a beautiful moment we meet our little sweetheart. A healthy uterus gives you a healthy baby. So ladies, lets stop taking our uterus for granted and show it some love.

For fun and artistic/intellectual stimulation, here is one of my favorite poems by Anne Sexton, "In Celebration of my Uterus"
