Hello, just joined this site and have found a lot of comfort from reading about your experiences. About me: ds w/SN, 13yo, sweet, imaginative. he gets overwhelmed, tantrums, an yells so it is really hard to find fun afterschool/weekend programs for him even in new york. FINALLY FOUND ONE - called Daytime Moon Creations, listed on autism spec. news, if any of you SN moms read that, too. He loves it - it's a theatre program for SN kids (like 10yo and up, i think) and teens. They put on a performance based on the kids' ideas and MIL, dh, and I loved it. They just told me they still have spaces open for their spring program, so I thought I'd share for any other NYC moms. Here is their website with all the info: www.daytimemooncreations.org
any other good extracurricular programs out there?
