Starting to feel Birthy... - Page 8

Oh babytoes,  that is exciting news indeed.

Good luck to all.

AFM, I have had pink and brown tinged discharge all day and baby is even further engaged. It is hard to move around and walk. I have another chiro appt today. So I am still in the middle of the process as far as I know but not feeling so bad about it today. I barely slept so DH stayed home from work to take care of DS2.

ELV, babytoes! Oh, writer mama, you are SO CLOSE!!

AFM, I've been feeling crampy a bit and still having BH. Baby is still breech, though, so I'm not sure how this makes me feel. :P

Wildmansmom--wouldnt it be funny if we both emailed each other at the same time, letting each other know we're in labor? lol.gif that would make me laugh!

Raingardenmama--isnt it interesting how some yucky mucus can make us feel so good?? lol.gif i liked your "glorious to behold" comment, i feel the same way smile.gif. I also love your screenname, it makes me feel peaceful.

Babytoes--sending you lots of ELVs!! I'm hoping your contractions have picked up pace today, i'll be waiting for an update wink1.gif

AFM--no more mucus plug but lots of contractions that, of course, have no real pattern. I'm just feeling good and excited about all the progress, though smile.gif That is satisfying to me for now.

Sunshine, things sound pretty good on your end! Progressing is soooo satisfying.

I feel fine, not too birthy, but I am really excited that I just lost my first "big" piece of the plug a few minutes ago!!! I've been having pink and brown discharge since I had my membranes swept on Tuesday but now that MORE stuff is coming out, I feel like the end is in fact in sight. I KNOW this is true, of course I will have a baby some time, but each day that passes and nothing else new happens I feel like it really won't ever happen. Ever.

The last two days have been WEIRD... starting with intense contractions that kept me up for a lot of the night 2 nights ago (not unusual for me, sadly, though it hasn't interfered with my sleep that much in awhile), which left me angsty and weepy yesterday. Poor DH got to be on the receiving end of my gigantic meltdown last night! Then this morning I woke up (a much better night thankfully!), ate breakfast, and immediately threw up. I don't physically throw up, like... ever... even through a good 5 or so months of pretty serious morning sickness at the beginning of my pregnancy. The weirdest thing was I didn't even feel nauseated til just before, which is ironic because I've been battling bad bouts of nausea for much of the last 3 weeks!

I'd be getting my hopes up that it all meant something, but I've had too many crazy things happen this month! Sigh. (Plus, no bloody show, though I've lost pieces of clear mucus plug off and on for 2 weeks now.) At least I know, one way or another, it will only be a few more weeks til I have that baby in my arms! (I'm 38 + 5 today.) Just had to post on here, because I knew you guys could commiserate!

A friend of mine recently was telling me that she randomly threw up in the middle of the night before starting labor in the morning. So, fingers crossed for you, storygirlcindy! smile.gif  (I know you've had a lot of crazy things happen, but this one sounds pretty good!)

Thanks! I'm going between being a little hopeful and sternly telling myself it's nothing, LOL. It's just weird because my body just doesn't throw up, almost EVER, and it's odd because I have had bouts of really severe nausea this month but none of them brought me to actually throwing up! I guess we'll see. I'm sure the "clearing-out" is a prelabor sign one way or another, I just hope it's not another "and now let's wait 3 more weeks" kind of thing!

StorygirlCindy - Hang in there!  It will happen soon enough.

Writermama - yeah for losing mucus!

AFM: I had lower back pain all night long and it has continued today.  I've also had a lot of crampiness today, nothing strong like contractions but maybe some BH?  Part of the reason could be that Baby has dropped down.  The OB said today that she is much farther down than last week and is hopefully putting pressure on the cervix.  Well, I can feel the pressure!

I don't know if I'm losing my mucous, but I've had some interesting things going on when I go to the bathroom.  I think with DS I slowly lost it over the course of a few days and didn't have any "show" until about 12 hours before he was born. I didn't get checked today - phew! But I felt around last night and my cervix (if I was in the right place) is much more soft and effaced than it was a few days ago.  I'm hoping to hold out until Saturday as my MIL gets in Saturday evening and can entertain DS and the OB I like best from the practice is on-call Sunday.  Of course... preparing myself for another 2-3 weeks also!

I had something going on last night, braxton hicks? Contractions? I'm not sure how to tell the difference! But they were strong enough to wake me up a few times! Of course,as of this morning they have pretty much gone back to being random and untimeable :/  I keep waiting for SOMETHING...bloody show, mucous plug, anything!

Any more action Writermama and story girl?
Wildnansmom- looks like another Buko countdown smile.gif
MrsB- hope things pick up for you, and for all of us!
I am contracting in a relatively intense way about 5 or 6 times an hour, I am NOT getting my hopes up, but they are definitely different and include back pain. I love it and am welcoming more!

Yeah for Raingarden!!! That sounds pretty good as far gearing up goes.

No, no action here. I kind of figured it would be like this. My pattern last time included strong contractions for a few days and then nothing for a week in between bouts of gearing up labor. I am hoping I still go into labor around my due date, but besides normal BH and continuing to lose little bits of mucous plug, I don't feel labor near at all. Meh--

Mrs.B, I'm right there with you. Seems that our babies just need a little more time. They'll come.

Any news storygirl or raingarden? You never know how fast things can change on this thread!

I had some quite strong cervical twinges last night and a mild period-like pain that persisted through the night.......but sure it all faded by this morning.

My midwives want a scan on Tues to check my waters; if low, they'll want an immediate induction, if okay, they'll be happy for another few days.

I can always refuse, of course, but it will be AMA. C'mon baby, lets get this done ourselves before that!

It seems that alot of us have a pattern where the "action" is happening at nights or the evening!!

I`m on that boat also!  Yesterday, I was sure things would be picking up overnight, and DP was convinced too, but nope!  I woke up this morning still very pregnant, and with no more cramps!

MrsB - probably just BH, same as the rest of us... one of these days they will stick around!

RGM - let's hope my LO cooperates like Baby Buko!

I don`t know what was in the air yesterday, but I also had a meltdown!   I just burst out in tears in the car on the way to dinner to my inlaws, and like you, DP was a little confused as to what to do about it!  I know that in my case, these cramps and pressure I`ve been having for a few weeks now are really causing some anxiety/confusion/frustration and, quite frankly, draining of physical AND mental energy!

I`m just not as energetic as I was during the last few weeks leading to my DD`s birth!

Contractions stopped. Baby still tucked cozy in my womb smile.gif

I had a bit of a.meltdown too yesterday but manifested as a fight with dh. To be fair he was being an ass toward the kids. But still should've handled it better.

I am so curious about story girl, seems like it could be her time.

Bena and Micah Mae- I spoke very little to anyone last night which prevented a meltdown on my part but I was not friendly with DS or DH. They were both very annoying but I wish I would've been nicer.
Hard to do sometimes.

Micah- how's your pain today? I do not have arthritis but did just learn that I've herniated a disc. Being in pain definitely compounds the stress of being hugely pregnant!

Slim- will you be post dates by Tuesday? I don't remember if there is another reason your MWs are monitoring you closely. Crampiness is an excellent sign! I feel similarly this morning.

Glad I'm not the only one having meltdowns! I have been super calm and way more emotionally stable than usual this pregnancy (I am by nature a cry-er) but when I hit 36 weeks it was like I suddenly hopped aboard the crazy train. Now every few days I end up in tears over dumb stuff, although this week was definitely the worst. Poor DH at one point the other night tried to gently suggest that I was being irrational and it did NOT go over well. ;) Even though he was, of course, totally right...

I'm still here, still pregnant, still feeling weird. I didn't throw up again yesterday but my body was definitely clearing itself out for the first half of the day. I didn't feel at all sick, but just SO TIRED. I'm still SO TIRED today. All I've wanted to do for the last 2 days is sleep. It's odd and I'm not sure what to make of it - I don't feel sick in the slightest, and while I have tons of chronic health problems and stuff that usually sap my energy, I've been nesting pretty intensely for the last few weeks and had more energy than I ever do. So suddenly turning into a zombie is a little weird. I'm really hoping it's a sign of my body gearing up for labor and not gearing up to get sick!!! I always contract but I've had some stronger contractions for the past few days too... not a ton, but a few each day that will really immobilize me. I guess we'll see! On this morning's NST my baby's heart rate showed a slightly new pattern which the perinatologist said could be due to her becoming more engaged and her head getting "squished" during the pressure of the contraction (poor kid, right??). Part of me sort of feels like it won't be too much longer... but then again, I've thought that a few times already in the past 3 weeks and no baby has appeared, so I could be full of it. I guess we'll see! I'll keep you posted. ;)
