Starting to feel Birthy... - Page 4

Mmmph.  This is the second day in a row that I've had a crampy-unwell feeling at around 4-5 pm, for like 5 minutes.  Weird.  Other than that, just daily random nighttime contractions-- strong BH or whatever, a few spaced out over a couple of hours.

~46.5 hours until the Green Light!

Ugh mw says I'm 1 cm. Really body? That's it? (37 + 2)

With ds1 AND ds2 I was 3 cm by 38 weeks and 4 cm by 40 weeks. I know I shouldn't be upset but contractions with nothing to show for them make me grumpy. :(

~30.5 hours 'til the Green Light!  Since labor usually starts at night, I really just have to make it through tonight and I'll probably be good.  I am pretty good with going anytime now, but I will definitely breathe a sigh of relief when we pick Dr. Mom up from the airport tomorrow.

And only 38.5 hours until my "due date."  Wow.

Congrats Buko!  Glad baby is cooperating with your Master Plan!!

orngbiggrin.gif You're making me chuckle with this countdown of yours, buko.

I am totally obsessed, LOL! Just 27.5 now! Of course it's most hilarious because I'll probably be twiddling my thumbs for another couple of weeks.

Yes, probably, but I too love the countdown, and maybe reaching the green light stage will suddenly relax you enough that the baby will come soon thereafter!

Ha, well, it's just about 20 hours now.  But Buko is moving up a STORM today.  Don't know if that means anything-- s/he's always pretty active, but this is way extra.  If I didn't know better (and I don't), I'd say s/he is trying to find a way out.  lol.gif

Or maybe getting "into position."

Buko, you crack me up!! The countdown is so funny, and I agree with you... All this counting down and then you will be left twiddling your thumbs for a week!! Wouldn't that just be the way??

AFM. I had something different happen this evening. I lost my mucus plug! Obviously it doesn't really mean anything, but its nice to know my body is doing something... I haven't had a change in contractions, they're still easy to walk/talk through. I have felt kinda strange, though. Like out of breath for no reason, and my stomach hurts, like at a few moments I feel pukey and then it goes away. I also had a huge "cleaning out" type BM this morning (sorry for the TMI!) for the first time ever. I've been a little backed up for the past month so it felt good to get it all out.

I guess we will see. My personally date of the 26th has gone and I'm still pregnant, so that was nothing to shout about...

Oooh babytoes! Making some good progress now! orngbiggrin.gif
post #73 of 377

Well, I'm having a lot more contractions-- they're not super-uncomfortable and I can't get the hang of timing them, but basically in the last ~2.5 hours, if I get up and stand or walk, I definitely have one.  I'm sure it's nothing, but I think I'll just FYI-text my MW to give her a heads up.  And only 17.5 hours before my Green Light!  This kid is surely related to me...

BabyToes and Buko - that's exciting news for both of you.  BabyToes, maybe you somehow got all caught up in Buko's count down and have now embraced it as your own?!  duck.gif

Oh Babytoes you'll be going any time now!  Buko, my dear - I think you still have some time to twiddle... but I could be wrong.

I am going for cervical ripening acupuncture tomorrow am and then I'm busting out the breast pump tomorrow afternoon.  My BH contraction have been getting stronger and more frequent, to the point that it's *really* uncomfortable to drive if I'm having one (which I am a lot when I'm driving, so that's not good - but not completely unmanageable).  The problem is our car has a standard transmission so I have to lift up my leg to depress the clutch and shift, and that's HURTY when I'm having a BH contraction.  But at the same time it's good because stronger contractions are progress, right?

I have prodromal labor for weeks. :/. I went to my dr appt today and couldn't lay down I kept getting dizzy and nauseated. The dr also felt me have a whopper of a contraction, so she asked to be monitored for a while at l&d.
I spent 4 hours on the machines or walking, contractions every 3-4 minutes but no cervical change. The nurses were nervous to let me leave with how fast my deliveries are, but finally agreed to Walmart walking, as its close by. Walked almost two hours, almost in tears from the pain, ctx every 1-2 minutes, major pressure.
Went back for a check, huge ctx every couple minutes.... Nothing.
Soooo, now I'm home. I really wonder of I'll make it to the hospital this time. It was nice to just spend most of a quiet day with dh away from home though. wink1.gif

LOL buko!! I am also amused by the countdown (and also betting on her twiddling her thumbs for about a week after the countdown is over lol). I refuse to do countdowns for anything i'm excited or nervous about it because i just get too focused on it and thats not good for me. I can see how it would be fun, though!

Oooh babytoes and MPsSweetie, it sounds like you both are really close to meeting your babies! smile.gif. I am looking forward to seeing both of your updates in the labor thread soon wink1.gif

AFM, not much going on, just the occasional BH contraction, sigh. Oh well, i'm only 37 weeks so its not a big deal. I'm not feeling too impatient yet, i'm just enjoying the rest of this pregnancy as much as possible and taking it easy.

MPsSweetie, having intense, extended prodromal labor like that must be hard and I bet you are right about all of that speeding things up on the big day. I hope you can make it to the hospital and that you have an easy "end" labor when all is said and done.

Babytoes, I totally could have written what you wrote today! I am having the same sorts of things, but haven't lost my m. plug. I never have with the my babies though (only tiny bits over a week and not all of it) so I think I would be really excited if that happened. I too have had a sudden switch in BMs for the past two days, yesterday in particular I went like 4.5 times. OMG. I have constipated for two months. It is feeling GREAT to be moving along again but I am wondering why the sudden switch? And I've been having unexplained stomach/intestinal pains that sometimes go with stronger contractions. But I think I am probably still at least a week away. My contractions are still coming all day like every 30+ min, sometimes closer to 10 min, but now are feeling just like BH. This is a similar pattern my last labor followed so I am curious to see how it progresses. I was quick to remind myself not to be too surprised if this one goes much differently.

Oh, I bet all y'all are going to go before I am.

I'm just happy I made it through the night!  About 9 hours now-- yay!  I figure I am not terribly likely to go into labor during the day, especially without bloody show, mucus plug, diarrhea, etc. "paving the way."

I did text the MW to let her know what's up, and she said to call her if I couldn't get more than 1 hour of sleep at a time, but it was a non-issue, as contractions pretty much stopped not long after my last post here.  Phew!

Twiddlin' time soon!

(OMG, I am overhearing the cutest conversation between my DH and my brother-- who lives with us, and whom we told last night something *might* be happening-- in the kitchen.  DH is explaining what BH are and how they prepare the body for birth.  Awwwww...)
