Welcome Madeleine! If it would make you feel better I would lean towards canceling the appt. I know my midwife will only start scheduling that kind of thing after 41 weeks, so on your due date does seem premature. But, odds are everything will look fine anyway smile.gif There's so much to stress about at the end, isn't there?

Post partum ladies-

DS is almost 2 weeks old.... I stopped bleeding for 2 days and then 2 days ago I started gushing blood for 15 minutes (Soaked 1.5 pads in that time), then nothing.  Then I stopped bleeding for another 2 days and then today, gushing blood (Soaked 1 pad in 5 minutes), now the bleeding is gone again..... I was not doing anything strenuous either day.

I usually bleed 6 full weeks, but very lightly after the first week or so.

Any ideas?

Also, I mentioned the first episode to my MW and she didn't seem like she was concerned and my uterus is pretty much back to normal size and my MW released me from her care.

Chloe'smama- my bleeding seems very irregular this time too - not like with my other 3 - I'm 10 days pp and I will go all day or 2 days with maybe just a little spotting and then suddenly ill soak a pad, i think it might be related to activity but its not at the same time as the activity - like ill walk a lot in the morning and then when baby is cluster feeding in the evening ill have a lot of bleeding - i usually have a week or so of normal bleeding and then spotting for the next 5ish weeks .. I don't know why this time has been different ..

I think we're on our way to something here. Contractions are 10 min apart and steady for the past 3 hours. They started a bit earlier in the day just as a steady back ache, lower abdominal cramp. It took a while to articulate any waves in intensity. Now it's pretty defined. Just took a walk outside and now we're starting to make our baby birthday cake.

Yeah, that!

I was really hoping this storm would put me into labor, but no such luck. Why can't I be one of "those" people? My SIL had her first at 39 weeks in a snowstorm, and her second at 37 weeks in a snowstorm. It also seems like everyone I know IRL has their babies early ... between 37 and 39 weeks. No fair!

Exciting typebug!! Go mama go!

My PP bleeding has been a little on and off too. In general this is the least I've bled. I wonder if it's because my MW did a lot of pushing on my uterus? She did a lot right after the birth, then a few hours later, and then some more the next day. I'm now a week PP and am barely soaking a pad a day... but then yesterday I in the morning I soaked a pad. I bled heavily for 6 weeks and spotted until 8 with my older two, so this is a nice change!

Thanks! Things were going quite well for 4+ hours and then we finished the baby birthday cake making and contractions stopped. I guess this one wants to build a little more suspense. I've managed to get some sleep and eat lots in anticipation for this party getting started again.

i did a LOT more pushing on my uterus, and my bleeding is different than the other times as well.  my uterus is pretty clamped and low now (not far above my pubic bone at 12 days pp), and my bleeding has been mostly mucus and more dried up/faint blood than my other births which had more darker/heavier flows.  i only had clumps until i passed all my membranes around 3 days, then clots and color shifted and became much smaller and more dried looking.  i think the binding made my body empty more, though sometimes it feels like a gush or heavier flow, the color has been far from bloody and very gray/brown/pink with mucus.

Not too many people left without babies to "chat" anymore, huh?!

After a pretty constipated pregnancy, I just had the softest, loosest BM I've had since before I got pregnant. And I had some thicker mucus on my panty liner, though it still wasn't anything like what I'd imagine part of a MP to look like (I never noticed losing a MP with either of my other kids). I'm 39w4d today. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it's so hard when you're this pregnant, you know? Everything is a "sign." At this point I am hoping to hold off until Monday, which is my 30th birthday. What a great present that would be, huh?! We are going out to Red Lobster with my parents tonight. I can't wait!

Ah, pooping. I started taking a stool softener with good results. Funny that pregnancy/labor didn't give me hemorrhoids this time around but my first poop PP sure did!

Thanks for the support mammas! I cancel led my frivolous ultrasound on my due date and am practicing being patient for my sweet baby to come. It is really nice know there's other ftm's out there going through the same anticipation I am. I have been feeling very much like I do just before starting my period all day. No bloody show or uncomfortable contractions, but hopefully it means something is happening in there.

Still pregnant and sooo ready. 41-1 today by US dates. measuring 39. We have a huge storm system headed our way, so I am praying that tonight is the night for something to happen. I have an awesome mw, who is cool with me going a bit past 42, but I will have to have another BPP by 42 2. I accidentally got one at 39-6 and scored a perfect 8 which was great. We thought baby was breech & I needed to get it checked out & they did the BPP at that time since I was there.

Anyways, cheers to the still prengnant mamas!! Looking forward to reading more!

I am just 39w2d, and am impressed with how successfully I have brainwashed myself.  I really have 2-3 more weeks in my mind, "maybe as little as 1."  If I think about it, more than 3 more weeks is especially unlikely, as by LMP that would actually put me 1 day shy of 43 weeks.  That's cool-- although fatigue (and especially lower back fatigue) have definitely set in, psychologically, I feel like I could deal with another 3 weeks if necessary.  More than that, maybe not so much.

If I think about it, though, even though I am a FTM, both my mom's kids were born within 2 days of 40 weeks, so anything is possible.  (No sisters, one grandmother had all of hers between 39 and about 40.5, the other one tended to go a bit "late.")

What I "need," as I'm sure I've mentioned, is to make it about 4 more days and 3 more hours or so, because on Thursday, 3 (arguably 4) things happen:

-At 9 am, we have our last group prenatal with our MWs' other March moms and partners.  This is awesome, because December or January moms will be coming and talking about their births and babies!

-This appointment is also important because of DH's new job and insurance, which took effect Feb 1.  To most easily get our reimbursement for the whole pregnancy/birth fee, we need to have had at least 4 prenatal appointments between the start date and the birth.  We have had 3 since Feb 1, so the Thursday one will be number 4.  Otherwise, they'll have to bill our old insurance for prenatals and our new one for the birth, and it's a whole mishugas.

-DH has his mandatory immigration thing at 3 pm.  Just a formality, shouldn't take too long, but I don't want to be in labor when it's happening!

-Dr. Mom arrives by plane at 5 pm.

So-- wait, Buko!  After that, I'm really feeling the green light, though I'm prepared to wait another couple more weeks on top of it.  In fact, I'd like another week if possible, because I'm a weirdo.

I would like to have the baby before 41w3d, though, because they'll want to do a NST that appointment, and I'd rather not need one.  I mean, I know they're totally NBD, but the more doppler exposure I can avoid, the better.

I get that part NST/BPP part. I really don't want to do another one!

I just changed my chiropractic appointment until Friday so I'll be 41-6 at that point. Yea for the over competent uterus I have. LOL
