Fish oil

So I've been taking Nordic Naturals Arctic D-3 Cod Liver Oil with Vitamin D but I ran out and today, I bought Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Fish oil which is made with deep sea fish (anchovies and sardines).  It has more Omega-3's in it....

Not sure which is better to take.  Do any of you have information or opinions on fish oil?  Thought I would check in here before I start researching it more thoroughly and I won't be seeing my midwives for awhile.

Thanks!

I take the NN Ultimate Omega because it has the highest available levels of both dha and EPA. I take Carlson's d drops separately so I can control the dosage better.

I take the Nordic Naturals prenatal DHA - not fish oil but close.  The prenatal one is apparently the only one recommended by the American Pregnancy/Obstetrics Association (not sure if I got that right) if you care about that stuff.  I don't but I chose it because a natural fertility book I'd read had recommended something like 350 mg+ of DHA per day and that was the only decent one I found that had the high DHA level.

I take the same one.

I take new chapter whole mega. It's completely unrefined, sustainable harvested, salmon oil. I get a little weirded out by the highly refined dha products. Seems so unnatural.

I am taking carlson's cod liver oil, but I am going to try Carlson's fish oil when this bottle is done.  I hear it's the best, lol.

From what I have read and researched this is the best kind of fish oil to get. I bought this kind for the first time (my first time buying and taking any fish oil, actually) back in February. I got the liquid so I could give it to my two young boys also, otherwise I'd just get the pills. The cinnamon is a bit strong for me, I almost wish I'd gotten the unflavored. My almost two y/o really hates it! If he gets it on his skin around his mouth it sometimes turns a bit red. I think the cassia oil is too strong for him. I ordered from the Green Pastures website and they only had unflavored or cinnamon tingle flavor in the liquid.

good to know! I am scared of the fish taste. I might regret it but I think I would rather have super strong cinnamon taste. I guess I will find out soon!

Oldoak-  I have never tried it, but if the cinnamon is very strong it might be the culprit aggravating your son's skin.  My DS got a minute bit of cinnamon oil (some essential oil I had diluted with olive or almond oil) in and on his mouth when he was about two and it flared up!  Mostly at the corners, but a little all around.  I put olive oil on it right away and then again when I could catch him next and that helped it.  Just a thought, in case it happens again!
