The clinic I called said I can come in anytime between 18 and 20 weeks.  I picked closer to 18 :) but now I am wondering if they can get more accurate measurements, etc. if I wait til closer to 20 weeks.  Opinions?

Mine said anytime between 18 and 20 weeks, also. I'm going in at 18w4d, since it falls on a day that's convenient for us. I really don't think it matters much- with my DD we had the anatomy scan at 18w6d.

Yeah, I also picked the day that was convenient for us which is during my DD's Spring Break.  I will be 18wk2days....Thanks!

Are you taking your DD?

I think so! My DH will be there too, so he can take over if she gets too rowdy. :-)

My MW has me going at 20 weeks because of my weight. It's nothing major, just that baby is bigger and presumably easier to see in this chunky mama lol. With my DD I had two anatomical US: one at 18 weeks and one closer to 20 (when they had an opening). I had to go back not because of size issues but because lil miss was simply not cooperating. She was either tightly curled up into a ball, obscuring the detail they needed or wiggling and moving so much that they simply couldn't get the images they needed. 18 weeks is a great time, go when it's convenient. Just be forewarned that baby may have other ideas and may make you return to finish the scan.

This is me, too.  :)  they let me choose between 18-20 and I chose 20 because I read it's easier to see in a bigger mama.  And, If I wait 'til 20 weeks, then I'm "halfway" done and that works well in my crazy mind. orngtongue.gif

My CNM said 17-22 weeks, I'm going at 17.5 weeks because the schedule worked out.

With my prior three, they wouldn't let us schedule it until 20 weeks because they were often having to redo them before that.  I don't know what the "rules" here are yet (I find out at my next appointment in March), but I'll probably aim for closer to 20 weeks.  I'd prefer to only have the one.

Well, because we are now "high risk" in light of our elevated NT measurement, things are a little different. We're having an amnio on Monday (15.5 weeks), which will include an ultrasound. Then, my "anatomy scan" is going to be at 18 weeks, but I'm not worried about it, since I have to go back for a fetal EKG at like 21-22 weeks. With any luck, by that time, we'll be cleared and I can go about having a low intervention remainder of my pregnancy.

We are paying out of pocket so can really only afford one. Hmmm, makes me wonder if we should wait to closer to 20....

I will be getting mine when I'm 17w1d. My regular doctor will be doing it. He wanted me to go closer to 20 weeks, but my Midwife wants me to get an ultrasound before my next appointment to rule out twins

I'm going at 21. Better view of the heart after 20, and mine is a level 2 so they want to see the heart. I had the cvs though, so I know the sex. I'm not in a hurry.

Mine is scheduled for March 13 when I'll be 20w3d. I am doing it at my OB's office, so we're just rolling it into my monthly visit. I was only 16w at my last one. Maybe 15...what day is it? Hee hee.

My OB did tell me he'd already done one on his wife who has the same due date as me (!), but he might need to re-do it because he wasn't able to get very clear measurements.

When we were in England. The military base would not do the scan until after 22 weeks.

Here they do them between 18-22 weeks. Mine is scheduled for 21 weeks exactly. It's illegal here to reveal the sex of the baby before 18 weeks because of some cultural practices of gender selection.

Mine will be $175, which seemed like a lot to me, until I found out my sister's was over $1000. She had some more significant issues they were exploring so they did the 3D one, but still: whoa. Sometimes living rural has its advantages, but it's not like some crazy farm contraption rigged to a video camera- LOL! My OB has a big-screen HD tv that I get to see it on while laying back. It's like a home theater experience! smile.gif

I am having my anatomy u/s at 22 weeks this pregnancy but with my first PG it was with a different practice and at 18 weeks. We saw everything well enough and got good measurements. That was my only u/s that PG. This PG is twins and we've had 2 already and are having more to check on a SCH.

I ended up being surprised by one on Friday at my appointment. All was well with my little guy.
